Re: P47 advice

I just received a Dragon P 47 and currently have a Corgi model as well, the Dragon mold is better...................a lot better. Just my opinion. Get them both if you can, I still like Corgi's even though Dragon's is nicer.

Re: P47 advice

The Corgi 47's aren't bad at all, it's just that the Dragon 47s are so very, very good. Unless you like the super-chromed look or have an aversion to fiddly bits, go for the Dragon.

Re: P47 advice

Both have benefits that the other does not. In comparing several of my Corgi and Dragon P-47's I found the following differences

Pilot- Corgi has one ( although up close it is not that great) Dragon does not

Moveable ailerons - Dragon has them but Corgi does not

Main landing gear wheels roll- Corgi's rolls but Dragon does not, also Corgi has a much better tail wheel assembly

Rivet Detail- Dragons has them and they look good but Corgi does not

Rear view mirror- Dragon has one, but Corgi does not

As far as the overall mold, I have to give the advantage to Corgi with respect to cowl flaps and exhaust outlets

The corgi has a more chromed look verses the flat aluminum of the Dragon- again your choice

Now, comparing the Diorama to the Nose Art, you just have to decide which you prefer. I for one like nose art, but the diorama is pretty cool also, and you can always put another plane in it to change things up.

I hope this is helpful.

Re: P47 advice

Both the Corgi and Dragon have their merits. Also there are a ton of both out there so you get them at good prices.

In the end I think the Dragon are a little bit better but they are not low maintenance. You have to put the parts on them to get that look while the Corgis come right out of the box and onto the shelf.

Re: P47 advice

I have a couple of both Corgi and Dragon P-47s. Have to give a slight edge to the Dragon over the Corgi offering.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: P47 advice

Dragon is the more accurate , the fuselage is better than Corgis, however Corgis are not too bad.

For me its Dragon everytime.

Re: P47 advice

If you want the most realistic looking model, I'd go for the dragon. A dragon P-47 with opened cockpit looks really stunning. Add a hobbymaster pilot and you have a real eye catcher!

I myself like the corgi a little more, but only because it's a corgi....and I'm a corgi collector....with a weakness for dragon's P-47 and Wildcat...

Re: P47 advice

The Dragon P-47 'Okie' and the Corgi chrome Major Glen Eagleston Nose Art fits the bill IMHO.

Question Re: P47 advice

Which P47s are we comparing here? Both razorbacks and bubbletops? Do the same points apply throughout as per skydrivers post?
