Be NICE Skunky! ...it's not a total dog.

Heh. Corgi. Not a total dog. Heh.

Actually, I agree. Corgi has a lot of paint schemes that no one else has done. I only have Shomo's from the Legends series, but I am tempted by Cripes A'Mighty.

Re: P-51D Mustang 'Down for Double'

Perhaps I jumped the gun in criticizing this as yet just another Corgi Mustang, and if so, I apologize..Am I to understand that Corgi has improved their mold with this one?..I am still unable to tell based on this photo and the one on TFM site..I've just been able to discern the same flat top cowl and slumping guy in the seat as being the same as past Corgis, thereby assuming that the mold is the same old same old...Although I'm not a rivet counter, I'm one of those strange ones who prefers a more accurate shape (i.e. Draggin') over collectability, as I don't ever intend to part with them anyway.

Just so you guys don't think I have anything against Corgi per se, my latest diecast purchase was another B-52 (my third) from the Hound. I think Corgi makes great BUFFs (maybe it's all the fiddly bits ) and they're the only player in town when it comes to the heavies. So yes, I do appreciate Corgi immensely for their wide selection and the fact that they usually get their stuff out when they say they will.

I have my own well-known issues with Draggin' as well...

Long live the doggy.

Skunky, we know that you're fond of Dragons and Corgis and that you're not being a "Gemini" in expressing your opinions (to which you have every right mind you) .

We'll convince you yet of the inherent aesthetic beauty of Corgi Mustangs - given time and patience .

And lots of little pills that make you see green Mustangs everywhere!

I agree with you Skunky that the Corgi mold is flawed. But other than Dragon's Mustangs, which seem to be getting more rare and have limited liveries, Corgi and Witty are all that's left. Sad, tres sad.

Maybe we can push for some from Hobby Master since, I believe, they made the Dragon P-51 anyway. But Dragon may own the molds so maybe HM can make a new P-51....well I can dream anyway.

Re: P-51D Mustang 'Down for Double'

I don't know why everyone complains about yet another mustang. Are they supposed to quit making them? I say keep them comming. As long as they are not reissuing previous releases I don't see the problem. I think that this one is great.

Amen brutha! I say bring 'em on.
Have to admit this is the first one to tickle my fancy in a while.

Now Corgi needs to do a Missouri Armada and a Hurry Home Honey.
I, er, I mean we, need these to add to our 357th FG collections.

Re: P-51D Mustang 'Down for Double'

I like the fact that they did a paint scheme never done before.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: P-51D Mustang 'Down for Double'

I'll definitley be picking up this one. I've had my eye on this paint scheme for a while to do in a 1/48 model kit, as aeromaster has it in an aftermarket decal set. I'm also happy they chose it for the nose art series as well.

Re: P-51D Mustang 'Down for Double'

I just got mine in last night (cert. #20) And it's probably the best P-51 Corgi's done yet. The paint scheme stands out real well when you sit it in with a bunch of other fighters, glad it's just not another one that blends in
