My latest Acquisition.

Oddly enough, I find myself buying more of the older releases that I missed than the new stuff.

AA32702 Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6a
XF418/16 - No.1 TWU, RAF Brawdy August 1979
by Corgi Classics | 4000 units produced (2001)

Collector's card excerpt

Most Hawker Hunter variants were powered by a single Rolls-Royce Avon turbojet, including the F.Mk.6a depicted by this model. No.1 Tactical Weapons Unit was formed at RAF Brawdy, South Wales, in Sept.1974 as a successor to No.229 Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Chivenor , Devon. The Hunter depicted by this model was originally with the Air Force Defense School, then went on to Brawdy in October 1976. XF418 was actually built as an F.Mk.6, but was brought up to FGA.Mk.9 standard, including tail parachute, which gave it the designation F.Mk.6A. XF418 survived at Brawdy until 1985, when is was withdrawn from use and scrapped.

Re: My latest Acquisition.

Thanks fellas.
Never really been a big fan of the Brit stuff, but I've taken a liking to it recently.

Re: My latest Acquisition.

Very sharp. The old RAF jets are cool cause they're so rare for us to see I think.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Good score Admin, I have 7 Hunters including this one & will eventually add a couple more before i'm done. The colours on these & the EE Lightnings are superb and really spice up a collection (not that i'd know mind you, mine are all in boxes & packed away

Take it out and play with it
