Have to go with the Mosquito.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

THE top-scoring Bomber of WW.II = Mosquito B.IV, LR.503 (coded GB*F_) 213 missions......

....another plane which was scrapped & goes largely un-recorded !!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't this one destroyed in a crash just at the end of the war. I seem to recall it was a tragic accident in Canada. Would look great in 1/32.

I voted for the Lanc coz I haven't got one yet, and would love a high scorer. Frankly I'm surprised none of these have been done instead of some of the insipid schemes we've been given (esp the B24).

Ooops!

That's both sad..... & interesting, if so timbo (assuming it's one & the same plane ?)

I've not seen the eventual fate of LR.503 but there are photo's about........

The one I saw of her, was after completing her 203rd mission.

It's been published in several quality-books, regarding the Bomber campaign in Europe.

Found this which confirms the story.

F for Freddie Tragedy - Nose Art

Very tragic accident, esp as the war had just finished.
