Re: Flying Mule Exclusive...what should it be?

I'd be all for a Putt Putt Maru (MacDonald), or a Pudgy (McGuire) if it came to that. My heart yearns for a Condor Legion/Spanish Bf109, but Martin indicated that this is not terribly likely (unless Corgi does a Spanish 109 as well), which is too bad, given how quickly his Molders FW190 sold out.

I know that Gemini does exclusives in the airliner range, so I'd be inclined to guess that they might be willing to talk to Martin about an exclusive P-51B (Gentile!).

In the Corgi camp, I can certainly see Martin doing a P-38 companion to any of the Corgi releases, and perhaps a companion to a tooling we haven't even seen yet. Thomas Lynch flew with Bong for a while in December 1942 (Lynch flying lead), so perhaps his P-38 is in the cards? (Did Lynch even fly the J?)

Re: Flying Mule Exclusive...what should it be?

I think we are talking about what the second from now commission is. I think Martin alluded pretty strongly that he is interested in a trio of Gentile planes and there have been heavy hints that Corgi is doing a P-51B in the Jan-June 2007 catalogue, and I am thinking that there might be a Warbirds P-51B with Gentile's markings, that will be doubled into a AA line that Martin will offer in tandem to the cheaper model. (sounds good even if it is all quess work and speculation...)

So for the one following that... I still say a white Russian Hurricane is in order.

May the farts be with you, and not me.

Re: Flying Mule Exclusive...what should it be?

I would think that Corgi would reserve all the popular Typhoons and P-38 for themselves to ensure the sales numbers and ROI. If that is the case, we are at the mercy of Corgi's production schedule.

My money is also on a Gentile P-51B.

Re: Flying Mule Exclusive...what should it be?

How about an EC-121 Warning star? The father of the AWACS based on a Super Constellation air frame....

Now that would be really cool,...if only Corgi could ever figure out how to do a Connie...

Re: Flying Mule Exclusive...what should it be?

I think it be cool if Martin put out a Tommy McGuire Pudgy V P-38J lightning.
After all he is the 2nd highest Ace in the USAAF.
