Re: Yankee Doodle or Memphis Belle?

Elmer,
have you considered a FM B-17? They make a couple of nice looking B-17s, lots of metal content, impressive on the shelf and the price is right (some on Ebay for less than $100)! Even though the MB's nose is wrong there are correct "F" and "G" models.

Since I started collecting, I have resisted 1:72 4 engine heavies due to their size. I ain't goin' down the 1:48 4 engine heavy road... no way, no how... uh, uh... ain't gonna happen. Impressive on the shelf... what shelf will hold that monster? When I was a kid, the only way I could display my Monogram Fort and Lib was to hang 'em from the ceiling! But those heavy FM monsters will pull drywall down!

Re: Yankee Doodle or Memphis Belle?

Ha Ha! Good one, HC! Trouble is, I spent my Lanc money on JP's Admiral Prune!

It cost me an arm and a leg and the left one!

Good thing I am done having kids...

Jeez Elmer !

'Admiral Prune' is nice..... an Arm & Leg is a fair price, BUT.......

The "Family Crown Jewels" too mate ?????????????

Giving yer wedding tackle away, AS WELL, is just TOO-MUCH guy.

'J.P.' now has "blood" on his hands (&, er, "other" things, besides !)

It was worth it! I just got it... what a beautiful model! I'd give the other jewel away for another piece this nice!

Re: Yankee Doodle or Memphis Belle?

Hornchurch , if we had had the family jewels removed at birth life would be a whole lot simpler and easier ,plus we would have all the diecast we could wish for.

These females are just too darn expensive to keep.

God Bless America.

Agreed! Let's see how much they will go for on e-bay! Maybe I'll get enough to buy a Memphis Belle!

(Kidding, of course... )
