Two oldies from the Mule

Like several of the collectors here I took advantage of some of the older Corgis suddenly available at the Flying Mule. Not being a big Lancaster fan (I have one and that is enough for me!) I finally figured I wasn't going to find a deal so I bought Strawberry Bitch. But what convinced me to go ahead on the B-24 was the chance to get two other rare Corgis. First, AA32410 HMS Invincible Sea Harrier 1980. She is now sitting next to my Hobby Master Argentine A-4.

Second AA32308 English Electric Lightning of 56 Squadron 1965. I've liked the Lightning since I had a small Matchbox diecast of it when I was a kid. I figured I'd never get the Corgi one because I wasn't prepared to pay over $100 for one. Thanks to the Mule I have one for much less.

These are both Legends models so no stands or wheel up options but I like to display gear down so it doesn't bother me. Both were still in stock when I posted this if you just have to have one of them.

Re: Two oldies from the Mule

The Corgi English Electric Lightnings are a great looking model. Neat new additions you have there.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Two oldies from the Mule

Both are great looking models. Where on the Mule's site can you find them, or are they already gone?

Re: Two oldies from the Mule

Thanks, 1250 (sounds like something from Ben Hur)! I went ahead and ordered the Harrier, along with the Guadalcanal HM Airacobra. Those are great pictures: excellent exposure and lighting, and the color in your pictures made the Harrier much more attractive than the pictures on the Mule site...

Unhappy Re: Two oldies from the Mule

I reckon we missed them. All the focus has been on the heavies.

Cool Re: Two oldies from the Mule

Very nice pics as per usual ships. Both are Legends Series aren't they?

Yes, both are Legends series so gear down only and you get to fight with the Legends packaging.

A quick search on the Flying Mule site shows both of these are now sold out.

Ah, yes, the Legends packaging. Those little screws, especially that one in the center, under the styrofoam. Urghhhh. Then getting the dome-like part of the stand free from the top part of the stand. My opinion is, if you are taking the plane out of the package and off the stand for your little one, make sure the tike is out of earshot...

Anyway, I ordered the Harrier mainly because I'm a sucker for gloss paint. Also, noticed that British Lightning went first; never even saw it listed.

Again, thanks to the forum for the heads up...

Thumbs up Re: Two oldies from the Mule

Yep, I stumbled over the Lightning last weekend & broke my "no more Corgi Legends" rule. For $49 & only $16 to ship to me in NZ I had to grab it - making this EE Lightning # 10

Take it out and play with it
