Re: Corgi AA32609 Grand Slam Lancaster

I received mine today also and it is truly a great plane. I am so glad I was able to pick one up at such a reasonable price. I seem to have the prop issue also, but mine isn't that bad.

You're right Harry, it is a superb Lancaster - I actually like the fact that it has fewer turrets that the traditional 'workhorses' . (The camo. colours are also virtually the same as the Grumpy 1/32 Spitfire .)

I've managed to virtually fix the props by some very 'judicious' manipulation of the prop/spinner assembly (not for the faint hearted as the slightest excess pressure will result in Rice Crispies i.e. 'Snap, Crackle & Pop' ).

Re: Corgi AA32609 Grand Slam Lancaster

Got mine yesterday and never thought to "test the props" -- they don't spin that well, couple do pretty freely but two look out of balance and are a little tight -- but my other two lancs seem to have the same affliction so maybe it's a Lanc Thing?

Nice model though -- looks great alongside the Dambuster.

Re: Corgi AA32609 Grand Slam Lancaster

Congrats to all who got the Slam.

How much was it may I ask.

I noticed many of the new Corgi heavy stock were at 149.

Thanks, Ed

Re: Corgi AA32609 Grand Slam Lancaster

I have to admit that I can't stop looking at my Grand Slam Lancaster - it is better than I thought it would be (given that it's not a traditional 'workhorse' Lanc) and everything about it just looks cool ...

Re: Corgi AA32609 Grand Slam Lancaster

It's been a good week for Corgi Lancs on my end. Picked up what I believe was the last "Grand Slam" from the Mule and lucked into a Rhodesia Sqn. (Corgi Aviation Archive) one today at a flea market/antiques mall for a very decent price. I will say it again: Whoot!
