| Re: What are the best 1/72 Corgi "Biggies?"
Personally I was turned off by the amount of plastic in the Halifax -- it looks great, but feels kinda cheap-o... not that that should probably matter, but for some crazy reason it does to me.

| Re: What are the best 1/72 Corgi "Biggies?" Ya the Halifax has more plastic to it then the Lancaster for sure...But she is still a great model to have too. JP | |||||||||||||

| I only have three 4 engine heavies a Dambusters Lanc, 9o9 B17 & the Merlin Halifax & each one is a gem for fit & finish (lucky?) only the sticker on the B17 lets it down but having said that on my sample it is very difficult to tell it is a sticker, as for the Halifax there is a minute gap between the canopy & fuselage which is common to all of them that I have seen & the Lanc is let down by its reverse camo scheme but no seam or join issues. As for twin engine moulds all six of my He111s are superb as are the two Ju52s I have, no Wellingtons in my collection which is a serious ommision but hope to track down the Mildenhall bird soon | |||||||||||||

Mate, if you can lay your hands on this one, you'll be REALLY glad you did !!!!!!!!! I've got Five Wellingtons & I HONESTLY reckon this one (the RCAF, Mildenhall) is the pick of the bunch To say it's "well-nice" is an understatement

| Re: What are the best 1/72 Corgi "Biggies?" 4 Engine 1st - Lancaster (Work horse versions only) Good fit and no wing gaps. 4 Engine 2ed - B24 Beats the B17 because of the lack of wing joints just beats the B17 having opening bomb bay. Both B24 and B17 are let down by poor sick on fronts. Halifax drops too last due to the amount of plastic 2 Engine 1st = He111 wing joints half way upp the body are not too noticable. Corgi have captured the shape of the He111 well. 2 Engine 2ed - PBY Catalina Bit too much plastic to win top slot, but beats the Wellington, because the welly has too many casting options blanked out. | |||||||||||||
