Ah yes, that would be:

4 engine - Lancaster, B-17

2 engine - HE-111, B-25

Voting summary so far:

4 engine:
Lancaster: 12 votes for 1st; 1 vote for 2nd
B-17: 3 votes for 1st; 2 votes for 2nd
B-24: 0 votes for 1st; 7 votes for 2nd
Halifax: 0 votes (odd??)

2 engine:
He 111: 8 votes for 1st; 0 votes for 2nd
Catalina: 3 votes for 1st; 1 vote for 2nd
B-25: 2 votes for 1st; 9 votes for 2nd
Wellington: 2 votes for 1st; 3 votes for 2nd

We had 1 vote for the P-38 but I didn't count it as not really a heavy.

Not a big surprise that the Lancaster racked up that many votes, but none for the Halifax, thought it would get a little more attention.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: What are the best 1/72 Corgi "Biggies?"

Well, then, good 'ol Theo here will put in a vote for the best 4-engine Corgi MOLD and I think their Halifax is excellent!! No problems with seems, accuracy is there, everything fits well, and paint scheme is accurate (my Barton Hali). For 2nd place, I think that their Lanc (my Pathfinder) is outstanding!! (for all of the same reasons above).

For a 2-engine bomber, I will go with their He-111; no problems whatsoever with seams, gaps, etc. For 2nd place, I will go with their Ju-88 (Norway variant)-excellent fit!!

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

Well at least the Halifax is now into the count.

Yeah, I did too. I have none of the four engine heavies, but from closely inspecting Tri's site (for about the zillionth time), I thought the Halifax looked as good as the Lanc. I certainly do not see the nose gaps/seams issue that seem to plauge the Lib and Fort. Am I missing something about the Halifax mold?

Re: What are the best 1/72 Corgi "Biggies?"

For all you Corgi 1:72 "Biggie" collectors...

What is the best four engine mold? What is second best?

What is the best twin engine mold? What is second best?

JP... feel free to turn into a poll if you would like, I can't figure out how to do it

THE best four-engine mold has to be the Lanc.

It's not my favorite, mind you,

but I think technically it is way better than both the Fort and Lib -- none of those ugly gap/seam issues.

Second best I would say is the Lib... simply as I've seen more gap issues with the Forts.

Best twin engine mold I think is the He-111, it's just superb -- all the ones I've owned have been pretty much perfect in terms of fit/finish. Second best is the B-25 which is a very close second.

You are wanting pics for molds not liveries, correct... ?

Four - engined....

Pappy's got it nailed - from a Tech' standpoint NOTHING touches the Lancaster (whether ya like the bird, or not).

The mould quality is unsurpassed.

Twin - engined....

There's ONE twin-engined winner....HEAD & SHOULDERS above the others...

(yet everyone's talking B.25's & He'111's ????????

I'm presuming you guys have overlooked THE BEST twin-engined mould by far ????????

(the) Consolidated PBY Catalina !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apologies ! she's got '3' votes...... now , make it '4' lol
