Re: Corgi USA tell the buyer and dealers something please ???

Thanks Sniper, perhaps you have a contact in the "New look Corgi" that would considering coming on board forums such as MHII just as William does for HM.

As this very important brand revitalises itself the concept of direct feedback with its customers should not be overlooked. What a great time for Hornby to get a reputation for being proactive instead of the perception we have of the old regime - surely there is someone in a senior marketing position that is a also a collector that would relish such interraction? I can only hope so but the limited info you have passed on is encouraging and appreciated.

Corgi is the backbone of my collection with (last count) 262 pieces and I want more!!

Greedy, aren't we ...

I don't think there will be a contact like William though Corgi have contacts through the DAF who like me are "helping" with certain models and so on after being contacted through the forum for our specific knowledge,I really can say no more.

Not to sure what to expect.

Hopefully they'll do something different to spark some interest, apparently we'll know soon enough.

Maybe they'll have a special promotion, like send in six tokens and you'll get a Silver Halifax, oops that's been done before.

Don't bet too much on it,there is life in the old dog yet

So can we expect them to release some new heavies?

I sure would like to see an 8th AF B-24 and perhaps some of the more interesting variants of the B-17 and B-24. Yb-40 anyone?

Same here.

Also, how about a 1:72 scale Hercules with working ramp and a jeep.

There are lots of accessories like 1:72 scale tarmac, WW2 and Nato Hangar, ground euipment, etc that would be an instant sellout.

I'd buy a YB-40 in an instant but I'm thinking that it would prove very, very hard to modify the existing moulds to allow it.

Re: Corgi USA tell the buyer and dealers something please ???

Corgi was the company that got me interested in diecast aircraft and for the most part have been an excellent product up until about a year ago. The arrival of companies like Hobby Master and Century Wings I'm sure knocked them for a loop and really upped the ante for hanging on to their share of the market. Hornby, I know has extensive experience with diecast from their scale train equipment and has always done exquisite detail work. The critical part of this marriage is and will always be value. The quality and execution of the product have to be at least equal to their competition and fairly priced. I wish Corgi well in the future and hope to see them regain some of their former glory.

Re: Corgi USA tell the buyer and dealers something please ???

Looks like the Corgi USA site may be back up (Well at least it was a few minutes ago). A week or so back nothing, but gave it a shot just a few minutes back and the US site was up and running. Good news, or just a fluke, not really sure.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
