How about a Ju 88 nightfighter or day fighter

Corgi has a real good looking Ju 88 bomber model, but how about some fighter variants too. There would be a nice selection of night fighter paint schemes to work with and a fair amount of day fighters too. Just with the HM release of their Bf 110 night fighter, think it would look pretty neat to have a Ju 88 night fighter to put on the shelf. The Ju 88 night fighter also had a nice variation in some of the radar antenna configurations to work with final variant having covered parabolic antenna.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: How about a Ju 88 nightfighter or day fighter

It seems like the Hobby Master Bf 110Gs are flying off of the shelves. Why wouldn't a Corgi Ju 88 night fighter?

I would buy at least one of them if they didn't charge too much. The plane isn't that much bigger than a Bf 110, so I don't see why it should cost that much more - it's scary that existing Corgi Ju 88s cost so much.

I believe that Corgi would have little difficulty using the current JU-88A mold to turn out a JU-88C day fighter. All that is needed is a new solid nose to replace the bomb-aimer's position. An early nightfighter might also be attempted with a new canopy for the pilot's position, some radar and a ventral gun pack.

Here are a few I would not mind seeing. The all black paint scheme would make for a neat looking model.

Agreed CM IMHO a RRP of £35 would be about right for a Ju88 & looking at the pics Cruver Collector has posted I would by one of each in an instant.

Now if only Corgi would do something like this. I think they could pull off some of the earlier Ju 88C-4 thru C-7 fighter variants with just a few mods to the current mold. Ju 88Gs would be a different story though.

I would keep my thumbs up for the upper one of these two!

It would not take to much tweaking on the molds to do one of these. Keeping my fingers crossed that Corgi puts something like this out.

The nightfighters would be big sellers IMHO CC at present I have no Ju88s in my collection only AA36704 appeals from the recent issues but not at current prices the BoB version is on preorder though
