Re: 1/72nd Corgie P-51"Beaten like a rented Mule"

Celtic, don't be taken in by the glare! When it comes to Corgi, just because it's done in chrome or gold doesn't mean it's got personality or pretty. Heck, if you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig...or something like that.

p.s. speaking of chrome.......where the heck is the Corgi exclusive???????????

Actually, I have all three of the Corgi B's, and like the OD one best, it's just that I haven't photographed it yet (and at the rate I'm going, I'll probably kick off before I get there!!). (And I wouldn't take a gold one even if they gave it to me with that silver Halifax -- and getting the latter seems as unlikely as getting the first!)

What Corgi exclusive? Me thinks I missed something here...

To me, personality really counts, though shapely and pretty can turn even this old, bald head!

Smile Re: 1/72nd Corgie P-51"Beaten like a rented Mule"

Well, what started me collecting diecast planes was a Corgi Mustang (Roscoe C Brown's Tuskegee bird) so maybe I'm a bit sentimental. I have quite a few Corgis and still like them. They were for me at least my first exposure and were great. Yes, the newer molds are better and I have both Dragons and GAs. I just think that we have to recognise their place in diecast. What did we all buy before Dragon and GA? Maybe the odd Matchbox? Sure I don't like that huge seam on lots of Corgis but these days I'm starting live with the limitations of my models. None are perfect really are they?

Celtic, I stand corrected, I meant the silver Halifax.....and you may be right about never getting it.

They are quite good------except for the missing pitot heads. FOV and Matchbox included these, why not Corgi?
