Re: Swordfish In!?

I received my shipping confirmation from The Flying Mule a few minutes ago - now I'm counting down until it arrives. This is one model I am really excited about seeing arrive!

Re: Swordfish In!?

The Swordfish looks exceptionally good, especially with the folding wings and all - one question though, are the hinges built to last or are they going to be the cause of much pain and suffering later . (I have the second/silver one on order but after seeing this one I'm considering that two may not be such a bad idea after all .)

I have the same one on pre-order in part because I witnessed its flying display some years ago.

As I said earlier in this thread I was contemplating the float-plane version but after seeing the pictures of the first release and reading the comments the Swordfish is a winner for sure.

Initially I thought the first release would be a bit dull, but it isn't! What about the ones following? Think about the black RAF one.

Don't be too hasty Cardinal! We're in for a real treat here. I can see myself getting more Swordfish than the one or maybe two I had bargained for! Talk about cool models.

How much will you be moving them anyway? I'm sure they are designed to withstand reasonable usage, unless you intend folding the wings back and forth many times a day ;-)

Re: Swordfish In!?

Picked my model up this morning. It really is something special. The detailing and quality are excellent. The use of plastic has been kept to a minimum, though as expected the folding wings are plastic. Here are some more photos:

Re: Swordfish In!?

Couldn't you just not fold them then?

Even folding the wings on one, one wing on another and none on a third will provide more space for...

Question Re: Swordfish In!?

Nice pics TSR2. What happens to the crew with the wings folded? I guess its too much to ask for them to be removeable too.

I believe they will all have folding wings... I have displayed mine with the wings open and this is really a BIG bird (wingspan wise).. Unfortunately, the crew are not removable, but they are really nicely detailed, so that isn't a big deal to me...
