Re: Swordfish In!?

Which one is better ?
Ark Royal or Royal Navy No.10 ?
Does Ark Royal come with 3 crewmen ?
JP

They are both GREAT and both come with 3 crew members.. As to which one is better, I guess it just depends on which one you prefer.. I have the Bismark one and will be getting the Catapault fish from Martin when they come in..

Thumbs up Re: Swordfish In!?

Just picked the 2nd Swordfish (silver). Very nice as I expected given the 1st release. Rather more colorful than I expected, very nice and limited.

Also picked the Catalina and "Audet" Spitfire @ the same time from Ol Bob Perry. 65.00 on the Cat, and 35.00 each on the Spit and Swordfish. Not bad I guess.

Re: Swordfish In!?

I have both of the Swordfish now available. They are a wonderful addition to a collection (the pre-war silver looks especially nice).

Here's a little tip you might try if you have one of the Corgi Hawks and aren't using its stand. If you use the Hawk stand for the Swordfish you can display the plane in a slight level climb with the torpedo attached and nicely displayed (see pic).

Thumbs up Re: Swordfish In!?

My Swordfish is on it's way. This model will have a special place in my collection. I once had a workmate who sailed on the Ark Royal as a deckhand during the incident with Bismark. As a deckhand his job was to clear the crew from the planes as they touched down on deck. In one such incident he had to remove a headless body from from a pretty shot up plane. Later he was wounded in an action and had to have plates inserted because of head wounds. I dedicate this space in my collection to 'Big Sammy Duffy'. Swoop.

Neat trick Black 6.

Thumbs up Re: Swordfish In!?

Just got a Bismarck Swordfish from Merri, which, as it turns out, is a pretty good feat in Canada as most of the suppliers were short changed....again.

All I can say is wow!!!! Will be getting the silver edition, with its link to Canada, a no-brainer....and the pontoon I fear as well. Just completed an almost $300 order with Scott, hope I can still afford them.

Well done Corgi.

Re: Swordfish In!?

I received my Ark Royal Swordfish, and my Gloster Sea Gladiator today-Great models, rigging on the Swordfish is perfect. On the Gladiator, some of them could be a little tighter, but still not bad. If their WW I aircraft are like these, and around the same price, say goodby to Carousel1's $69.95 prices, at least for the most part!

Re: Swordfish In!?

Just got my Ark Royal / 810 Sqdn. Swordfish -- what a beaut! Even the figurines -- which I'm normally not a fan of -- look OK. The detailing on the mold is great, to say nothing of the rigging. No sagging wires here... It goes right next to my Sea Gladiator. OK, Corgi, I'm writing this in hopes that you'll produce more interwar aircraft... BFC-2 Goshawk, anyone?

Re: Swordfish In!?

I also have the "Sinking of the Bismark" Swordfish on the way with other various "goodies". Should be here in the next few days.

Re: Swordfish In!?

I will have my Bismark one in the morning. I can't wait to torpedo my Beagle.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
