Corgi to release a B-52 in 1:72 scale???

Gentlemen,
I was at the local hobby store today (Spitfire Emporium) and I was browsing throught the 2008 catalog.
Something caught my eye...a B-52 model listed as 1:72 scale release.
This model was the "short tail" version in all grey 1990 USAF low vis markings.
Is this a simple miss print or this is for real? Does anybody know?

I like everything that flies, except flies...

would have to be a missprint -- that would simply be too big, and too expensive... cool to think about though

A nice thought but I very much doubt it - the cost would be outrageous let alone the shipping! The 1/144 scale versions are bad enough to post but well worth having at least one in your collection

Take it out and play with it

Wouldn' t that be the case though. We want a 1/72nd B-29 and they give us a B-52. While nice what was the MSRP?

See ya all in about 15 months!!

I'd rather have a 1:72 hercules with a working ramp.

It's probably going to be a 1/44 release instead of a 1/72.

Keep'em flying.

They often mis-mark the scale in catalogs and online...proofreading is not a Corgi strong point.

Re: Corgi to release a B-52 in 1:72 scale???

while i very much doubt it will be 1/72 i must say i think a B-52 in that scale would be the coolest peice of diecast ever made, just how big are we talking here??? what length and width would a 1/72 B52 actually be???

It would be a big one. With a wing span of 185ft and fuselage length of 159ft 4in, model in 1/72nd scale should come in at 30.83 inches on wing span and 25.56 inches on fuselage length.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
