Re: Corgi to release a B-52 in 1:72 scale???

It would be a big one. With a wing span of 185ft and fuselage length of 159ft 4in, model in 1/72nd scale should come in at 30.83 inches on wing span and 25.56 inches on fuselage length.

...yea, and drop it on your foot...

Would be worse than dropping one of the Marshin models on the old foot.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Thumbs up Re: Corgi to release a B-52 in 1:72 scale???

I'd rather have a 1:72 hercules with a working ramp.

I am hoping for the same thing.

A 1/72nd B-52 could be done ( no doubt it would be expensive, though). I know these are plastic, but Monogram's classic B-52D and AMT/Ertl's short tail birds come to mind.
Now, if you want a real piece of heavy metal, how about a 1/144th scale diecast C-5?

Re: Corgi to release a B-52 in 1:72 scale???

If Corgi is listening---remote chance though that may be---- a very cool idea would be to put out a B-47 and B-36 in 1:144th scale. Then you would have a set, including the existing B-52 mold, just like the British V bombers, that should appeal to many collectors. As for a 1:72nd scale rendition of the B-52, that seems a bit risky, considering Corgi's current situation.

I like the idea of making the B-47 and the B-36. I'd like to add the B-58 to the U.S. list. Also, if Corgi added the Vickers Valiant to the mix, they could then offer a true V-bomber set- IMO, that would be a big seller for them.
