Re: 2008 Corgi Release Schedule

Summer 2008 or Summer 2009?

Corgi preorders at the Mule's web-site appear to be delayed until July 2008. For example, the Skyblazers F-86, second SPAD, and second Albatros (2007 catalogue) are now scheduled for July preorder; Udet Albatros and Rickenbacker SPAD (2008 catalogue) are now scheduled for September release.

Re: 2008 Corgi Release Schedule

That and it will save on some wear and tear of my wallet.

You could say that again, CC! My wallet is already smartin' from all the new releases by Hobby Master that are actually going in shipping containers on their way here from China... never mind the new releases by Corgi that are in perpetual limbo. Might give me some time to sort through my Corgi pre-order list and figure out what I don't really need...

Same here, have six HM planes on preorder and will add the latest Bf 110 when it is listed for preorder to. Still hoping that might just get the Shuttleworth silver Gloster Gladiator this year. If it takes until next spring or summer for the Corgi Bf 110 and Blenheim,,,, well my wallet will not mind to much. Still have to free up some shelf space for the models that will be coming in anyhow .

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

The Mules dates have been like that since Corgi's announcement of a delay to July. Corgi probably knew at that time that they were being sold, so set up July as a likely date for getting started again. Now it is up to the new company to either set a new schedule, or stick to the guesstimate dates set by Corgi...all IMHO... I wish they would hurry on the Bf 110...

Re: 2008 Corgi Release Schedule

I think it will be much later before anything new shows up, I figure maybe Christmas if we are really lucky.

I see them releasing the cars, trucks and buses first as they go with their trains but am not sure if they are same scale.

Hmm... I am fairly certain I "recently" (within the past few days) saw the Skyblazers F-86 and second Albatross still listed for May, and the Rickenbacker SPAD listed for June. I have been tracking them pretty closely to update my wish list every few days. Of course, I knew these estimates by the Mule were optimistic.

Well... I hope not. Actually, I am more optimistic; I think we will see releases this summer. See CFBC's post at DAF. He spoke with a company insider who suggested the 2007/2008 catalogue will start releasing in the summer and extend into early 2009.

I do wish Corgi would "weed out" some of the catalogue, though. Do we really need two Blue Angels A-4s? Do we need more 1:72 Mustangs? Spitfires? I would actually take heart to see the catalogue reduced with cancellations.

Re: 2008 Corgi Release Schedule

I've been waiting for the Sky Blazers as well along with the WW1 planes and a few others.

Where is the wholesaler for Hornby located in the States?

Re: 2008 Corgi Release Schedule

As for this Skyblazers from the start i had a funny feeling it wouldn't come out when it was going to ...So i did the next best thing bought a Franklin Mint F-86 Skyblazers to keep
me company until it does come out...and that was over a year ago.

Good news! Check out Flying Tigers UK. The first AA release since Hornby's purchase is now in stock: AA36006 BAe Hawk. I imagine it will take a few weeks for this to reach our shores; the Mule is still listing this as a July release, but it should be here much sooner than that. I'm not particularly interested in this release and probably many U.S. collectors are neither, but I find it VERY encouraging to see an AA release only days after some had written off AA for good.
