Re: Any news on P-38s?

With the exceptionally common and mostly untrustworth delivery dates we've been experiencing from Corgi, I'm beginning to wonder if PO's are such a great idea.

Maybe paying a few extra bucks ordering the real deal instead of a bird in the bush would be a better way to go. When I pre-order, I match models that are going to be delivered during the same month, and while I know these dates can be off, this time they are REALLY off, maybe as much as six months. One of my PO's is the Egyptian Typoon and the Bong P-38. If the Typhoon gets here in mid-July '07 (or whenever), and the P-38 finally gets here (if at all--I'm beginning to wonder if Corgi isn't in serious financial trouble) a few months earlier, there could be some SERIOUS wait time.

Perhaps it would be more satisfying to take things as they come instead of getting caught up in (as it turns out) impossible dreams!

Another great thing would be CORGI GETTING OFF ITS DUFF AND COMMUNICATING WITH ITS CUSTOMERS SO WE CAN LEARN WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY! Corgi's public relations are abysmal! In fact, I'm tempted to throw out this challenge: Corgi, prove to us you are NOT in some kind of trouble, because the way it looks now, your release schedule is about as poor as it could possibly get, and something looks very wrong. But, I won't do that...

I don't care what the deal is. I'm 57 years old and I want my P-38 before I croak

Re: Any news on P-38s?

I agree, Celtic. Corgi has grown so large they don't even consider where their products end up.

My new MO is to avoid pre-orders on anything less than 1000 pieces and since that number and below seems to be the Dodo of our collecting world it gets easier and easier. With TFM dumping the PO discount there really isn't any reason to PO in my opinion. Besides, when dates slide I start making changes to my orders and only suffice to hose my spreadsheet and confuse the merchant. Too much trouble for too little return.

Hey planenuts,

If you do happen to "croak" before your P-38 comes in, can you leave it to me in your will? I promise I'll only say nice things about you.

Re: Any news on P-38s?

Well, if everything comes in around November that's going to be tough with Christmas around the corner. I guess no presents for everyone, diecast comes first.....right

Question Re: Any news on P-38s?

Well Celtic, I guess I'll have to agree and disagree all at once. I'll admit that there's no such thing as delivery dates. But then again, I'm not sure I've ever seen accurate delivery dates. CORGI is definately getting worse, theres no doubt about that. However DRAGON has got to be the absolute worst. There are still aircraft that they released images of that were never produced!! Last time I looked anyway.
