Royal Aeronautical Society Spitfire

Now this is one different looking Spitfire, and a bit of long title to boot. Yep, it's Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb. -AB910 'G-AISU' Royal Aeronautical Society Garden Party 1941(S/B 1949 oops),,pheeeww,,, even have to take a deep breath after typing that one. Well not much of a paint scheme, but just like having a Spitfire in civilian registration. I have been looking for a picture of the real one, but no luck so far. Might have to dig through some of my FlyPast and Aeroplane back issues and see if it might be in one of them. Well at least my pink photo reconnaissance Spitfire does not stand out as much any more.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Royal Aeronautical Society Spitfire

1949 - We had better things to do with Spitfires in 1941 than have Garden Parties!

Oops on the date, and thank you for passing on the background of this aircraft. Civilian registry on the Spitfire has an interesting look. I was unaware of post war air racing in the United Kingdom (Sound interesting).
