Weekend Corgi haul.

Another good weekend. I added four more Corgi models to my collection. Three were from local museum gift shop (Which is now pretty much depleted) and one came via the mailman. The models are picked up are a AA31901 No 276 Air-Sea Rescue Squadron Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIC, 49104 P 2798, Flt. Lt. I R Gleed, No. 87 Squadron Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, AA32203 'Bunnie' Capt. Roscoe C Brown, CO 100th FS/332nd FG P-51D Mustang, and a AA33102 251st Kokutai, IJNAF - Hiroshi Nishizawa Mitsubishi A6M3-22 Zero. The Spitfire has a real neat looking paint scheme and like the way Corgi did the P-51 too.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Weekend Corgi haul.

It has been a fun weekend. My son and I are now also official members of HAMM (Historic Aviation Memorial Museum). My son and I are looking forward to doing some volunteer work at our local museum this summer. Cleaning the planes was one of the chores they mentioned, and my son is really up on that idea.

Good for you and your son. Is this the place you scored on the diecast? Now you can get a member discount right?

Re: Weekend Corgi haul.

Congrats on the museum membership. I have to see about doing the same thing at some point - just gotta find the small aviation museum that's here in Toronto with the Arrow replica and restored non-flying Lancaster that was near the CNE grounds for the longest time.

Good haul too. That P-51D looks pretty snappy even if it is a Corgi - can't wait to get mine to sit next to "Creamer's Dream". Warning: if you get that plane too, might not be appropriate for your son! That is, if he's younger.

Old DeHavilland hangers at old Downsview airbase, but you knew that right?

Re: Weekend Corgi haul.

I honestly didn't know that it was so close to Downsview subway station - takes the better part of an hour to get there by TTC but that's no problem. I'm going to drag my future wife there this summer

Your right about that P-51D looking pretty good. My son is almost as bad as me when it comes to taking care of his models.
