New versions of what's out

I was just wondering with everyone getting burned out on the same stuff from corgi (like thier P-51D's) What would everyone like to see as far as new variants of what's out. IMO I really want to see an Fw-190D and a P-51B

Ditto, A FW190D is a must have.

Both would be great (I made the mistake of getting another model maker's version of the '190D, but spent half my time picking up pieces and trying to keep the landing gear attached). My special favorite would be the '51B (there are ton's of camouflage variations), and a Corgi would compliment the planned GeminiAces version. However, I think the only other WWII fighter for which there aren't already plenty of Corgi variations is the '109G (a '109F is a possibility, but it may be too late, given GeminiAces future offerings). The A6M5 Zero is a possibility, but Witty has just about take over the A6M2, A6M3, and A6M5 market. There may be other alternatives in the post-war jets. Maybe it's time for a Corgi foray into WWII Soviet and Japanese models (yea, I know, like THAT'S going to happen! ).

Re: New versions of what's out

I'd like to see some late mark spitfires, MkXVI and MK 24. It would be nice to see some bubble canopied Spits. Also possibly some Seafire variants.

Re: New versions of what's out

Interesting thread, good call folks.

The most obvious choice is the P-51B. I think that everyone will agree that seeing it will be a welcome and LONG overdue gap filled.

Another I'd like to see would be the later model Spitfires. I'm not sure how much war acton they saw, but they sure as Hell were sleek looking little planes.

I'd also love to see some early war planes. How about a Spanish Civil War era HE-111?

Keeping with the Spanish Civil War, how about a ME-109 D?

A P-40K version? (Yeah, IXO did one but as will all IXO's it's the plane to pick up when you don't think anyone else will do it.)

Dragon is about to offer us a night fighter/radar equipped ME-262.

Since we are about to get a P-38 from Corgi, lets hope that the next P-38 is a black, two seater night fighter version.

Getting into jets, has anyone done a proper F-4E gun fighter, or a wild weasel version?

There are probably another half a dozen other ideas I can't think of off the top of my head.

Armor wise, I'd love to see a Panzer II, both cannon equiped and machine gun only equipped.

Agreed..
My interest would lie in the MkXIV area.. Since a Griffon powered Spit is an obvious winner and combo that with the V-1 Buzzbomb with a limited run of 800..

Is the question regarding different paint schemes of the exact mold already in existence or are we talking existing molds with slight modification?
(Or entire new mold/modles?)

All AA - no "warbirds" -

Existing molds/different schemes: like to see (1-2) 3 tone Corsairs (maybe Jolly Rogers squadron); Fw 190; Spitfire - U.S. markings N. Africa.

Existing molds/slight modifications: P-40 B/C - Flying Tigers or Early war British N. Africa. P-51 B/C in Tuskegee markings and Old Crowe.

Completely new molds: KI-84; Hellcat; Helldiver; Avenger; Dauntless (with open gunner position/gun deployed); Val; Kate.

I was refering to existing molds with slight modifications..But I can't argue with the list you made they're all good ideas to me

I am not, in fact I just completed my wish list for some of the Witty P-51's and ME-109,s The oddballs with that look really neat. I know you asked about Corgi, but any large availability model should count in the answer.

On my short list,

Romanian and Italian 109's

Korean and Cant Remember P-51's

and of course the Sea Fury if it ever gets here.

If the price is fari and the quality ok, I dont mind more P-51's and the like.

Can't find anything here I'd change Doser. You saved me all that typing! Thanks!
