Thumbs up Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

I just got this out and looked it over after reading some of the complaints on here and anybody that does not think this is an amazing replica especially considering the price is nuts.

Rigging looks awesome, Painf and finish on mine are amazing, Details are very good. The little tiny gap up front is barely noticeable in hand. Not sure why the pics people take make gaps and stuff look worse than they really are ? But on the case of this and the Albatross the planes look near perfect in hand, 1005 better than any pics I have seen.

And I got it for $38.00, deal o rama. I hope whatever Corgis issues are with shipping planes goes away and Corgi makes it cause I love these planes.

Re: Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

Ebay, guy had it for 39.98 or best offer I offered 38.00 he took it, I got two other models and the shipping ended up only being $4.00 per model. got one of the Mig-29's for $38.00 also an a Indian Mig 21 for $28.00, I think it was quite a deal and I got them only 4 days after I paid.

Re: Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

I can't get past the seam on the engine cowling. Matchbox's model is proof they didn't have to build that way.
Everything else that's cool about it is counter-acted by that seam.

Is there any chance you could post some pictures of your latest addition?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Just goes to show you, if you are happy with the model that's ALL that counts. You will always find both sides of the debate, however it boils down to how much you like/dislike the model. Congrats on a fine addition to your collection!

Post us a pic if you get a chance, I'd love to see it.

Re: Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

I got a lighting issue with pics but will try and post some this weekend, I really like these new 1/48 scale Corgis.

Talking Re: Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

Just had a good look at the Georges Guynemer Spad.(Tricatus website)
No gap. Looks like the front of the cowling is one piece!

The picture of Guynemer on Tricatus is of a pre-production model. I expect the production Guynemer will have the same gap as Biddle, but I would love to be wrong.

I have the Guynemer Hallmark. Still waiting for Rickenbacker.

Re: Corgi Biddle Spad Fantastic

Yup. That picture is still definitely the pre-production model. According to the new release dates from Corgi, I think this one is scheduled for a June release.
