Re: What if CMC decided.......

If you're willing to pay $12000 per model you're turning a hobby into
an investment!

There are plently of folks with enough money that $12K is still in the hobby range (I can only dream). I have a distant relative that has major $$, a huge house, and unbelievable maritme artifacts in his house/museum (his thing) - He has a fully restored 1914 USN diving suit (the ones with the big brass helmet) and air pumping unit that he bought for somewhere between $60-70K. Then there is his car collection...

I have been eyeballing those Fine Art planes for years - If I ever hit the Powerball Jackpot, they are one of my first stops!

There are some folks here who are turning $69.99 models into an investment opportunity.

Unhappy Re: What if CMC decided.......

And that"s why some models (like GMPs) are so hard to get, which makes them even more expensive. (€199)
Simple law of economics!!
This used to be a hobby for ordinary guys like me

Re: What if CMC decided.......

15K for a Corsair and 12K for a Bf-109? My wife would not only be donating ONE of her kidneys, but her spleen, her appendix, and, perhaps, an EYE!!!! I could buy a NEW car for that price and I probably will!! My car would actually serve multiple purposes; collecting diecast tanks and aircraft of WW2 is simply an addiction!!

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!
