Re: warbirds stuka

Took it out of a old Matchbox p-40.
JP

There's an idea - when the "older" FOV - Stukas; Corsairs; Hurricanes - start hitting the clearance bin at Target, with a little "touch up", these could be a good source of pilots for pilotless models.

I wonder what a "touched up" Stuka crew would look like in a HM Dauntless??? Hmmmmmm.

Re: warbirds stuka

A dumb question, perhaps, but why do the Corgi Warbirds not have the tail swastika, while the Aviation Archive & Legends ranges have them?

Kids will be able to get these planes in wally world and Hobby stores and that won't set well with some people that see the Swastika on the plane.
Maybe that's why Corgi left them off just for this line.

Re: warbirds stuka

Ah yes, thank you. I forgot that some of these models actually do make an appearance on the shelves of Wal-Mart and other big-box stores.

Armour/Franklin Mint 1:100 scale Me 109's - currently on the shelves in Walmart toy sections - have a clear swastika on the tail. (Seen in Phoenix, AZ.)

Re: warbirds stuka

I just opened up my warbird Stuka and placed it beside the AA version and to be honest, aside from the pilot and swaztika it is an excellent model. For the money, they can't be beat.

I like no pilot anyway, but I will have to do something about the rear decal.

A nice surprise to be sure though. I bought only the Stuka because the wheels down is correct! Also the packaging is quite good too, for the price.

May the farts be with you, and not me.

Re: warbirds stuka

I bought the Warbirds Stuka on an (price) impulse, very nice model. Same quality as my other AA range diecasts (sans crew)

Re: warbirds stuka

The Germans made a Stuka with retractable undercart but only as an experiment. I dont have any details but it did happen.
