Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

Hey Jim, is that a Messerschmitt BF-109 G "Red 6" Oberfeldwebel Arnold Doring, 2/JG300, German, 1943 on the left you got there? I'd like to know your opinion on that particular Bf 109G as well. TY.

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

A Barkhorn fan here, absolutely love mine, although I must say the Hackl is nice.I will add it at some stage

Do many collectors out there have the black double chevron 109 and what are their thoughts on it.I do and like it alot.It appears tobe a model that is not spoken of alot and one which is not often seen for sale.

If you're refering to Anton Hackl's 109, I have ordered this one at OMI and it's on my way as well.

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

You must have gotten the last one. I was helping my dad order some models from them on Tuesday and it was sold out. Let me know how you like it, I'm thinking about getting one in April or May.

My Barkhorn from OMI arrived today..........it's a beauty!!! Carousel 1 Goetz's 190 D13 will be here on Monday!! And I just saved 20% on my car insurance through Geico!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

Hello FlyXwire,
Red 6 is a very good scheme and I would not hesitate to recommend that you jump in and buy one.

The darker scheme on this 109 does make it look a little more "sinister" than the other 109s, its very easy to imagine it lurking in the night skies over Germany.

Fly, this is a superb model as are all of the Corgi 109s in 1/32.

God Bless America.

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

If you have the money and the space then go for both, IMHO the Barkhorn is the 'nicer' of the two ( and if Corgi do fold then I should think you will always get your bucks back if you just cant stand looking at it..)

That is one sharp looking Bf 109!
