Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

That's why I say take both! One day they will be much harder to come by and fly may regret not taking the opportunity now.

Best option to go with. If you pick just one, just ended up wanting to get the other one anyhow.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

A very sound reasoning....

Sound, but tends to get expensive. If you factor in the fun value though,,,,, just might be worth it.

At $66 each at OMI....definitely worth it!

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

I purchased the Ehrle & then the Hartmann but love the Flightline series too. I looked at both the Hackl & Barkhorn & went for the Barkhorn in the end. it just looks nicer to me and I like the fact that he was in the 300 club

Take it out and play with it

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

FlyXwire, you have a nice problem here,

Both are excellent planes so its just a matter of which scheme you like the most.

Even thats not easy because they are both very good on that score.

I made the mistake of saying that I would just buy one, well that move was fatally flawed from the start !
I bought Red 6 because I spotted it on ebay at a bargain price.
Red 6 seems to be the least popular, but when I got my hands on it I was bowled over by just how good it was.
Well if this is the least popular one the others must be something real special so I jumped in and ordered another and another and finished up with all of them !!!!

Fly these are good, as we say over here, DIP YOUR BREAD OLD BEAN!

Alright Jimmy, thanks for chiming in! I can't really have one over the other with so many of you pushing me to get both...so I'll surrender and just have them both then!

Re: Help: Anton Hackl or Gerhard Barkhorn?

I would get the Barkhorn. I ordered one from On Mark this past Saturday and had the same dilemna. Since I have the Hartmann, I thought the Barkhorn would go better (#1 and #2 all time), plus there seems to be a lot more Hackls out there for sale (I've been looking for both at good prices and found Hackls all over the place for under $80). If you can get both get them, but the best option to me would be to get an Erich Hartmann 109 (mine was $124.99 and worth every penny) and a Barkhorn. The other thing is the corkscrew paintjob on the nose, I love the looks of that on Luftwaffe aircraft, that was a selling point on the Barkhorn. I'll let you know how I like mine when I get it.

Any word on the Graf working range coming out?
