Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

It took both of my Modelzone shipments about two weeks each to get to me earlier this year. I wouldn't worry about it. Customs can be a pain in the rear end sometimes, and considering how you're all the way on the other side of the country from where it entered the United States, it might take a bit longer than usual. You should have a big white box from MZ very soon, and good luck explaining it to the missus

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

I've had items from the UK take up to two months to arrive Globemaster. If it was shipped surface you may be waiting that long or more, depending on customs, prevailing winds, u-boats, etc..

Hello Guys,

I have a question on the amount of time it takes to receive your Phantom of the Ruhr Lancaster after Modelzone charges your credit card?
That happen on June 12, 2008 and today is July 10.

I'm starting to get a little worried...
Does it take that long to reach you in the USA?
I am located in California.
Thank You
Globemaster

Wonderful wise-crack about the "U-Boats".

Poor 'Globe' = bet you fear the worst (i.e. "fish-bait").

Like K.K. said, it's ALWAYS best to ensure you got a 'Tracking-number', to keep Tabs on it.

What particular branch did you order it from ????????

I'm hoping for your sake they'll (still) have a record of the transaction; & hopefully, a tracking-number.
(the individual-branch phone-numbers are EASY to obtain).

To Avro-Arrow (if you're around, Guy ?)

were you given a 'Tracking-number' on yours ???????

I was told at my local Post-Office, that although "snail-mail" was the cheapest; there's NO actual record of it.

Same happened with BOTH of my 1/72 Corgi-Catalina's that I ordered.... (also via M.Z. Croydon)

THEY (also) came thru with basic 'plain-Jane' postal-rate.

ANY 'P.F' worker could have 'nicked' them & I'd have been none the wiser & out of pocket.

FWIW. It's the SAME postage rate, from England, to California; New-York; Idaho or Maine. (no matter WHERE you are in the U.S.

I checked way back, at the local Office, using one of my Cat's as a 'sample'.

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

This was Fierytheangelsfell's from DAF's experience........

"I've been sweating on a delivery from Modelzone in the UK to my home in Sydney, Australia. Most post takes about a week. So, the credit card was processed June 5th and I'm thinking that by June 19th I should have the model (Phantom of the Ruhr, by the way).

But nothing has arrived yet.

I call Modelzone (the model is becoming more and more expensive with every minute) and they look into it. They email me a tracking number for....
you guessed it...

Farcelporce!

So I call up Farcelporce because, of course, the tracking number does not work with my shipment. International phone call again. More cash going onto the cost of the model. Kind woman at that end tells me that although the model was purchased on June 4th it didn't actually leave on a plane until YESTERDAY!!!! June 18th! WTF

I wouldn't feel so bad except I'm eager to get the effing model, it has cost me over AU$300 so far and the postage was more than SIXTY QUID!!!! Sixty quid and it just sits on an effing shelf for two weeks until there is a delivery 'window'.

Please, please, let the model arrive in mint condition. Please".

So there maybe a small delay involved

Hi dill; My old employers were known (colloquoally) as Ars**oleforce !!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a FANTASTIC cartoon printed in one of the Biggest-selling English-Newspapers........
(Mid-Nineties; at the same time I drove their lorries !)

It showed a group of six 'Parcel-Force' employees, delivering a packet of seeds !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, by the time "IT" (the seeds) had arrived, it had become a Tree

They're a national-joke, with good reason, believe me.

Globe; you have my MAXIMUM sympathy, mate !

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

Help! Not sure what you all mean by "sympathy",

Is that a GOOD thing or BAD??

I emailed Modelzone but haven't gotten any reply. I would hate to have to make any call. The price of the model could easily double really fast.

No way to track these things that I know of!!

I think Hornchurch was saying that delivery could take a couple of more weeks than you anticipated, I have'nt heard of any going missing or sustaining damage its just the service is slower than most of us are used to
