Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

OK, this is looking pretty good Right now.

I'm working with Shaun at Modelzone and he got back to me on the VAT. They have remove it from the total price of the model and they gave me a new total price including the shipping.

136.88 GBP or $267.50 USD....

With the shipping included in the total I think that could handle that price.

Globemaster

Thank You Very Much Guys for your Assistance!!!

You can still get Starman's "Admiral Prune" Lanc for cheaper on eBay. I know for a fact someone on this forum picked up S for Sugar on the bay for less than $100 in the last few months. There are cheaper ways to get Lancasters, you just need to be patient and observant.

Admiral Prune seems even rarer than either 'S'-Sugar or 'Phantom of the Ruhr'.

I'm amazed how the prices have stayed high (though it IS a great mould).

Anyone who gets 'S'-Sugar for $100 (or less) is one lucky-git !!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that's bugged me about the more recent releases is the 'overkill' of Dambuster Lanc's.

Corgi should have 'whacked-out' some 'standard' Lancasters in different markings with the F.N.50 mid-upper turret that everyone loves so much.... & makes Lancasters look (so) 'Balanced'.

Too many variations on 'Dambusters' for my liking, however 'Iconic' the raid is/was.

Yes!! I went for it and sent in payment!!!

I'm very happy as this is the Lancaster that I wanted!!!

I have a few more of the lancs, I checked and I also have these two in the camouflaged schems plus the Canadian one.

It ain't done biddin' yet, and I won't be a bit surprised if it goes for $300.00. And an MHII member recently sold an "S -Sugar" for more than POTR. I guess it all depends on how patient one wants to be, and which Lanc one is willing to settle for. The Lancs with proper dorsal turrets are hard to come by (except George... still at Perry's).

Well, I was wrong, wasn't I? It didn't go for $300.00, it went for less... lucky me! I just got JP's Prune... or rather, I should say my Prune!
Holy smajoley! This is one fine model! Now I see what all the fuss is about... perhaps one of the finest pieces I have purchased. Worth every penny I spent on it. Thanks, JP!

Glad you concur about the Corgi Lancaster, Elmer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me that it's one of Corgi's OLDEST 'Large' a/c & yet, they got it SO RIGHT from the start.

'Admiral Prune' certainly ain't common, so you're lucky to get it.

I was lucky enough last Friday to buy the Lanc's that I personally wanted the most.

A 'trader' that I'd met at Spalding Toyfair put an 'S'-Sugar to one side for me....... wasn't cheap - but it had never even been touched by human-hands before... having never been out of the box !!!!!!!!!

Was the 1st time I'd seen one ('S'-Sugar) in about 5 years !

I had planned to visit nearby Duxford museum, but as it was early afternoon, I decided to take the plunge & drive on down to London (I was already 2/3rds the way there !)........ that way, I could examine the actual "P.O.T.R"'s that I wanted to buy.

Chose TWO 'MINT' ones fresh out the box, so obviously was V.happy, but got 'collared' for the V.A.T. (shame).

Whilst waiting, noted that one of the TWO "P.O.T.R"'s in the (Bluewater) display-cabinet had it's 'Tail-Turret' glazing missing, so felt vindicated... having driving down there to check before buying (rather than resort to mail-order).

The Traffic was a Nightmare going South, toward London, but I arrived home happy !!!!!!!!!

Don't Imagine I'll see an "Admiral-Prune" anytime soon, so I'll wait (prob') another 5 years, till the next (interesting Lanc') comes along
