Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

Am I the only one in sticker shock! $ 235 is about double what you could buy a Lancaster for a year ago. That's a lot of moola guys. And it's not even 1/48 scale. I'm afraid to call Modelzone and have tell me what it will cost to ship a POTR to the States.

Hello Guys!

I'm a bit new on these forums and even newer on this one.

I have been looking to buy this POTR Lancaster and went ahead and contacted Modelzone and got this price quote to the US from Shaun there. £60.30

The model £89.99 and the shipping quoted was £60.30 for a total of £150.29

My figures for the converson to US dollars was as total of $295.88 USD!!

Looks like an awful lot to me and not as good as that price to Canada...

What do you think??

Can't see HOW that works out, Globe' as I had the prices checked out at my local 'Post-Office' for shipment to U.S. & Canada, using a boxed-up "Sullom-Voe" Catalina whilst there.

The local Postmistress said "it's same price to both (U.S. & CANADA, via PARCELFORCE).

I'm baffled too.

The postage looks right (mine was £68 ) make sure you get the VAT taken off that will save you ~ $US25.

I used an online conversion tool for today and it cae out to those amounts. I know that the dollar is not as good as it used to be. Maybe it was better at the time you ordered it.

What did you pay for your shipping?

Will do that for sure as it seems that was not taken off of my original amount.

Thanks!

Here is what I was quoted for shipping to Oklahoma. This was in March of this year.

Thank You Very Much for your reply!

Sounds like the same price without the VAT!

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey Globemaster...

Check out this thread:
Corgi Phantom Lancaster

It appears to me your quote from Model Zone is about the same as mine. I am figuring about $270.00 with VAT removed.
