I won't be able to display it for a while - I am getting a glass cabinet, but not anytime soon.

Not so fast HC
-- we also get taxed on goods shipped in and I doubt that will slip in under the radar. Our friend AA will likely get hit with our GST (5%) and his Province's PST. I'm not sure what it is in sunny Manitoba (Mmmm love that place!) but here in Ontario it is a glorious 8%. I would be paying 13% tax PLUS a Canada Customs Handling Fee that is usually just around $5. Close to your VAT which is around 17%, yes??

Now I guess the only good news he won't be paying both sets of taxes -- just one.

Hello JustPlaneNuttz and all,

I didnt hit with any taxes of any kind,no GST of Customs fee or Postal fee. The postman just needed a signature and off he went. That is the first time that it's ever happened. It's also one of the main reasons that I don't order from the U.S. because of all the charges you get hit with. Any way for you that have this GREAT model you probably love just as much as I do.

Congrats on the new acquisition.

Any plans to go for the Spitfire & Hurricane? You wouldn't want your Lanc to get lonely now, would you? ;->

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

Returned home from work this evening and a nice surprise was waiting for me on my doorstep. The Phantom had arrived, number 456 of 1350!!!

I can't disclose how I received mine, but let's just it was a fairly meticulous plan and everything had to fall into place just right, and I saved a LARGE chunk of change.

Many thanks to the one who helped deliver this beauty! Absolutely awesome!

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

Congrats on the acquisition! I am still trying ot find one at a reasonable price. The retailer I was working with was still trying to work out a deal, but the longer it takes, the less likely it will happen.
