Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

I sent an email to Modelzone to check prices.. If the quote is correct, it would be great!!

Yeah tell them you can get orders for a dozen, or whatever your poll said. Ask for a special reference number and we can all order independently under that number.

Go for the POTR Lancaster.

Re: Phantom of the Rurh or RCAF Lancaster ??

I can see your dilemma - the RCAF Lanc has a sense of Canadian nostalia to it but to me the reason i've never purchased one is that i don't like the look of the Martin mid-upper turret. I have since purchased the POTR and i'm extremely pleased with it. That would be my recommendation!

Take it out and play with it

The RCAF Lancaster is nice, but I think you'll be happier with the Phantom...

For the prices you're talking about, I'm pretty sure the Phantom is a better deal.

For me the Phantom wins hands down.

I think " The Phantom of the Rhur " Lancaster is the best one to get.

Blimey; Can't get better than a 100% recommendation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My personal opinion, is that "Phantom of the Ruhr" blows the Mynarski/RCAF Lanc' out of the water !!!!!!!!!!!

Most people cite the (strange-looking) Mid-Upper turret as THE reason why they didn't buy.

I reacted EXACTLY the same way, when I had the chance to buy it cheap, soon after it's release (long before I joined a 'Forum')

On the day I saw it, I also had the chance to buy the Rhodesian/44.Squadron/Nettleton Lancaster, "KM*B"
(which I snapped-up = £ 40/$80)

POTR has the more 'classic' look (with the 'traditional'-looking Fraser-Nash F.N.50, which everyone likes, aesthetically).

In this instance, Arrow, your choice is pretty-much, a 'no-brainer'

NEW UPDATE GUY'S :

I have just rcvd confirmation from Shawn at Model Zone that the Total price of POTR shipped to me in CANADA will be $ 116.88 Pounds .

I also have his personal assurance the it will packaged up correctly .

Hi Keith,

Just to let you know that the total cost is £116.88.

And I will make sure it is packed very well, I’m the person who deals with mail orders. I’m very sorry from what you herd but I make sure that nothing is going to damage these models as I myself is a model collector that if I was to order something I too would want it in perfect condition.

Many thanks

Congratulations, you will love it and that price is quite reasonable considering the weight.

On another note, thanks to our learned friend parsig for solving the mystery of the missing ££ symbol from my keyboard!!!

Take it out and play with it

Oh Great now you got me thinking about ordering the POTR, and I just spent $150.00 yesterday on 2 diecast ac for myself and a 1/18 diecast corvette for my Brother in law for a 50th birthday present. And I do own the Mynarski Lanc already. One of those have to buy models for me as I see it flying numerous times every year.

That is nothing short of astonishing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would cost me £ 96 to get it sent 125 miles across the UK.

For you to get this across to Canada for £ 117 is excellent.

However, your total is obviously EXEMPT from the (Dreaded) V.A.T. that we get 'mugged-up' for, by our Government (thieves)

Please let us (all) know how many days it takes to arrive, as I can't imagine it arriving TOO quickly (?)

Pleased to hear the guy's 're-assurance', regarding packing.
