Please tell us more about your new carrier deck? Where can we buy these? TY.

Nice pictures! But as I said with my review (minus pics), for that many mission marks, its too clean. Still its a great addition to the flight deck.

This is the 1/72 US Navy carrier deck by Verlinden. Part number VRL-1262. Available form many hobby shops. Do a Google seach for "Verlinden carrier deck".

The deck is a thin card. Not anywhere near as nice as the Corgi diorama base or the Dragon ones. But the Verlinden one should be $10 or less. They also make a 1/48 version.

Really like the looks of the Verlinden carrier deck.

Re: Photos Corgi Predators SBD White 1 1944

I just picked one of these up. If this is really an SBD-5A, (USAAF A-25B), a version of the SBD-5 meant only for operating from ground bases, it shouldn't have an arrester hook. The carrier deck in the photos is really a nice touch, but I don't think this bird ever landed on one. I like the two tone blue. This one will go next to my HobbyMaster VS-5 Battle of Coral Sea SBD-3 and Corgi Richard Best Battle of Midway SBD-3.

Did the SBD-5A also have the pneumatic tail wheel as found on the A-24 Banshee?

Yes, I believe it did.

Re: Photos Corgi Predators SBD White 1 1944

The paint scheme is very close to the FM Dauntless with several minor differences. Is there a reason that many 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft by different manufacturers are the same aircraft? Seems like a lot of variety is left out...........

Because Corgi has no imagination or clue as to what folks want.
