Re: Swedish Air Force Gloster Gladiator J-8A

They did do a neat job on the diorama with the tracks in the snow from the taxiing Gladiator.

Yes they do. My FOV SU-122 or Dragon winter camo T34 fit nicely into those slots.

(I know that it's in no way shape or form historically accurate, but I love having the two tanks and plane on the same little dio.)

Anything for a weird life.

Red face Re: Swedish Air Force Gloster Gladiator J-8A

I love this model, unfortunately it does not come with a stand or a hole in its belly so it is not possible to display it flying over the snowy plains. Pity.

Now I didn't know that! I have one stuck in Scotland. It was too big for a mate to bring it back in his luggage. Hopefully I get it next month.

Yep, this version has a different mold for bottom part of fuselage, and no hole like the other Gladiators.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

A great model nonetheless! I normally prefer to have my models displayed flying but in this case I care not. I'm really looking forward to it.

It is a great looking model with a real unique paint scheme. I have to say the skis do add to the appearance of the model.

Re: Swedish Air Force Gloster Gladiator J-8A

I was going through my kits an came across a Lindberge 1/48th scale Gladiator. With kit was a set of AeroMaster decals that had an interesting paint scheme for the Swedich J-8A Gladiator. Same camouflage pattern, but sporting skull & crossbones on the side of the fuselage. Look through some of my books and came across a photo that had a line up of these Swedish fighters, and quite a few had the similar markings. Could this be a case of Arrrr thar be pirates?

Re: Swedish Air Force Gloster Gladiator J-8A

I picked up this little beauty off eBay about a year ago for $50.00 + $12 postage. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the great pics too!

On my. I like that livery so much I fell out of my seat. Let's hope Corgi does a second Finnish Gladiator with those markings.

The skull and crossbone paint scheme is pretty different, and I would pick one up in a moment if they put it out in this livery.

Re: Swedish Air Force Gloster Gladiator J-8A

Let's hope the diecast gods are smiling (and Corgi managers are watching) and bless us with this scheme for the Gladiator, then.

Just bought the NAS Gladiator myself. Can't wait to get my paws on it!
