Fw-190A-4 US34308

Just had this dropped off by UPS today. I really like the whitewash paint scheme. Any thoughts on this? Any other aircraft that anyone would like to see with this style of whitewash? Thought I'd ask.

I have the AA34301 "White 8", Leutenant Walter Nowotny, Staffelkapitan1./JG54 Focke Wulf Fw190A-4 and have yet to add the US34308 version that you have. Have to hunt down one of those for myself.

I like this one, too, even though it looks "crude" -- the wash was applied often with brooms in the field so it should be "crude"... i would like to see afew more but since this one appears to be a poor seller, I kinda doubt it. The wash looks like a "mistake" to the masses and thus, is a bit of a risk. Silly choice for a noseart release, too, IMHO.

These have been hitting the "bargain bins" and going pretty cheap on the bay I think -- got mine at TFM sale for I think $14?

Mine ran $16.00 from Pete's Collectibles, don't know if he has anymore. I'm pretty surprised these are going for as cheap as they are, they didn't have a huge production run, only 1500 I think. Some of the releases with runs of 4000 to 6000 have become quite expensive.

Re: Fw-190A-4 US34308

I've got this bird. I was very fortunate and grabbed one at Tuesday Morning a couple of months ago.

In general I like the Corgi Focke Wulfe's and this is no exception. I also really like white winter schemes so when I saw this brid, she just screamed, "Take me home!" (It was very embarrassing as I had old ladies thinking I was killing someone in the toy isle. )

As was stated above, the livery is very inconventional so i can understand why it didn't catch on, but overall I think she is well worth the time and price.

Anything for a weird life.

Aikens looks to have some, but I will see if I can pick one up off of eBay first.

djjeffhall has a point - it grows on ya. I found it at the Flying Mule and I'm thinking of picking one up before it's too late.

Without some attempt at realistic weathering, whitewashed planes rarely look realistic. Here are some of my attempts at this.
