Re: How about a CAM ship Hurricane?

Same here, but even a partial section of a catapult might pull it off though.

One other point,
these Hurris would have to be battle worn examples because my understanding is that these were all time expired aircraft so losing them after one flight wasn't much of a problem.

Re: How about a CAM ship Hurricane?

A CAM Hurricane would be cool. With a catapult railing even better.

Here are a couple of models of CAM ships:

This is a resin casting in 1/1200. I didn't write down which ship it was and until I find the box again I'm not sure exactly what ship it is. It is by Santa Rosa Ships of the UK and has to be either Empire Ocean, Empire Darwin, or Daltonhall.

This one I know- it is Empire Tide a metal 1/1250 scale model by Argonaut. Empire Tide was one of the ships involved in the PQ-17 disaster. She survived and rescued crews from several of the ships that were sunk.

Now that is pretty slick!

Re: How about a CAM ship Hurricane?

As a fighter pilot what did you have to do wrong to draw that duty? Brave souls those guys were, catapulted off a ship in a worn out aircraft, get to altitude, get into the fight and then try to ditch or parachute out after. Then hope they get you out of the water before you drown or freeze to death.
Would make for a great diorama, if done right would be Corgi's best.

I sent a suggestion in to Corgi on this one, and hoping they might just give it some consideration.

I have to pipe in and say that this would make a great mould. I'll add thei to the wish list of things I don't think I'll ever see.

Anything for a weird life.
