Re: What Will Corgi Give Us For The Second Half Of 2008?

I would want to see a Bristol Bulldog and possibly Gloster Gauntlet too. I have five of Corgi's Gladiators with one more on the way. I really like their Gladiator model and probably will pickup a few more. Their Fairey Swordfish is another fine looking model that they did a pretty impressive job on.

But they have not done the famous Glad pilot, Pattle or something like that,.... 50 kills.

Given how successful that Glad line is, I trust they will get around to that one pretty soon. Just like the continuation of the Halifax line -- plenty there left to do!!

I do not understand why that was not one of the earlier paint schemes chosen. That would be one at the top of my wish list.

I'd seriously be up for both of those too. Corgi, IMPO, has done an outstanding job with the stringbags, followed on with these Gladiators. As long as they maintain this impeccable quality of detail, I'm in! The Shuttleworth will be my first, as I got snookered on a Norway one a month or so ago. (I'll eventually get it!)

Just need to find AA36201 Gloster Gladiator Mk.II& AA36206 Gloster Gladiator Mk.IIand I will have all the Gladiators that are currently out.

That and 15.5 victories in a Gladiator is pretty impressive too.

That most certainly IS when one considers Glads were usually considered 'food for prey'!

Re: What Will Corgi Give Us For The Second Half Of 2008?

If Corgi is going to keep issuing the old releases, I hope they at least consider expanding the range of markings available. Look at the Meteor, for example. I know they put out an example with the Dutch aerobatic team markings, and the Australian one. There were plenty of other air forces that also used it; like Israel, Egypt, Syria, and Denmark. Same with the Canberra. Looks like they put out two examples in non-British markings (the Meteors listed above, and the Belgian and Swiss Hunters) and call it quits.
Expanding the range of liveries may be a way of satisfying both the home market and overseas collectors.

Their Hawker Hurricane is another one that has a fairly broad selection of liveries. I would like to see Hurricane in Soviet (With red star) Finnish, Romanian, Yugoslavian, or Belgian markings. There are also a few for captured warbird for the Hurricane in either German or Italian captured markings. I personally would like to see one in the livery of one of the Hurricanes that defended Singapore.

Or a 2 Sqn RAAF Canberra in its Vietnam livery? Bombs on the wing tips!

English Electric Canberra TT.18 Aviation Warbird

Cheers CKS1.
