Thumbs up Re: What Will Corgi Give Us For The Second Half Of 2008?

My first choice would be a Hampden flown by F/LT R.A.B. Learoyd of 49 Sqdn., Bomber Command's first VC, awarded for a low level attack on the Dortmund-Elms Canal.

Now that sounds like a great choice. Corgi Hampden, have to buy at least two, maybe three.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I'm in as well!! I too would be up for at least one (early war preferred!) also.

Personally, I''ve heard some rumblings over at DAF that we may see the Blenheim Mk I. My guess would be a release date of early 2009 with an announcement 2nd half of 2008 (soon). I doubt (but live in hope) they would release this in the 2nd half of 2008. This is ONLY speculation based off rumblings heard on DAF, mind you.

Nothing wrong with a Blenheim Mk.I. That is another one I would make room for two or three of them. I wonder if it would be possible to get them to put one out in Finnish paint scheme and even maybe with skis? Nice looking aircraft and I would really like to add at least a couple to my collection.

Re: What Will Corgi Give Us For The Second Half Of 2008?

In 1/72nd, I'd really like to see a C-47 in D Day markings and an A-20 Boston/Havoc.

Dennis

Booya! I'll definitely second that!

I've never really paid attention to how Corgi operates from 1st half to 2nd half in a year. On the 2nd half announcements, would they make more castings of the same planes from previous years and more castings of new planes they announced in the first half (i.e. the new 1/72 C-47 and Blenheim)?

Or would they actually announce a new casting in the 2nd half?

The phrase "radical departure" isn't one that is typically used when making business decisions.

Perhaps a "new direction" maybe? Say, the Commonwealth Boomerang?

Regardless, a 1/72 Stirling, Sunderland, Hampden, or Blenheim Mk. 1 would also be fine with me.

Are you talking new castings/molds? Or are you talking existing molds, new/popular paint schemes?

Thanks in advance for any further clues you can drop our way.

How about additional 1:48 biplane molds? I have been dreamin' that Corgi will tackle the Curtiss P-6E Hawk... well, a man can dream can't he?

I can see the Stirling in 2009, they would want to milk the Halifax line for a while.
The Hampden would be nice in 2008,........ with my Vulcans.
