Tornado ECR

Hey folks,

(since I couldn´t find a Revell area in this forum, I am posting my latest "artwork" here).

I have just sold my Corgi No. 12 Sqdn. Tonka AA33609 on eBay. The reason: view below.

Before, I did not really expect that I would be able to make so much out of Revell´s diecast JaBoG 32 ECR Tonka. The only thing that really sucks is the fact that I do not know how to extend the front gear a little without destroying it - and thus, the plane looks somewhat like "cat launch" position.
The rest looks quite fine now - of course only after a few enhancements. Luckily, I still had a Revell plastic kit which I had primarily bought to take the HARMs (for my Witty F/A-18E). Now some other small parts of the kit were quite useful for me, as can seen below. It was very easy to remove the canopy (and it stayed whole!) so I was able to insert two pilot figures.
I then refined the main landing gear with landing lights and some extra struts from the mentioned plastic kit. The Sidewinder missiles were also from the plastic kit, while the launch rails just were repainted (so were also some of the antennas).

I really did want to start a collection of (West-) German diecast jets - and this model so far is the only way. As I already stated earlier, Corgi´s German Tonkas have too many obvious redactional mistakes. So I hope You forgive me for me "expelling" my AA33609 Tonka. It surely was one of Corgi´s better ones.

Re: Tornado ECR

I have this Revell Tornado, and I like it better than my Corgi "Iraqi Freedom" version (the ordnance, what a shame!!)
The only thing about the Revell one is the livery...I hate the tail. Would have preferred a plain one instead of this tiger theme.
Nice job on the missiles and the pilots.

Check the Ebay Listings forum for the latest diecast model listings on eBay.

Thank You for the flowers!

I can quite live with that tail... of course, a plain camo Tonka would have been better - but an overall special scheme would have even been worse!!! (most special schemes that may look great on real planes just look toyish on models, which naturally is unavoidable in my eyes).

The real dream that I still have is of a JaBoG 33 Tornado, wearing the Norm 83B livery ("Green Lizard"), in Century Wing´s quality, with pilot figures and FULL interchangeable ordnance load, including Taurus and MW-1.
