Almost like he speculates on certain models,... all the Brit models I want are 3 times the normal price. Happily I have been able to chip away at finding those via other sources.

Start a new thread,... Guess the cost. I'll say it cost you,.................... $79.00 landed.

New thread? -- right. I thought we weren't supposed to discuss this stuff publicly. Anyhow, add 95¢ and you are bang-on. Still -- OUCH!!!! Lesson learned.

TN: What pics? Agent X20 posted some already on page 3.

Re: Question about Corgi "McKnight" Hurricane AA32008

Which book is this? I only have 'Reach for the Sky' and I can't remember it being in there (mind you i last read it in 1967! Duh!! ).JPN

Here is Bader's book. I think I paid $12.00 at the Vanwell summer warehouse sale a couple of years ago. It was still available at the last December Sale.
I had a thread about these sales but do folks listen?
Anyway check out their site and sign up for the book club, if you don't want a drive to wine country twice a year.

Well, I saw that thread. But now I know WHY I need that book. Thanx for the tip. I will follow up with that!

Heck, I have a spare McKnight I'd have let go for $78 and I would have shipped it for free. Maybe next time.

Mine cost $20.00 from another member here. Landed in at $30.00.
Not that I really want to rub salt.
Of course there have been models I wanted badly enough that I have paid premium price just to get one. It all evens out.

Yeah, it does. I've gotten some real 'steals' in the past, so I guess one eventually gets dinged. Today was my 'lucky' day. Moving on . . .

For those keeping track, I did order this McKnight Hurricane from Perry's this morning. Final cost with shipping? (OUCH!!!) Hard lesson learned. All I'm going to say is, next time, don't wait for a model to go out of circulation to the point of having to go to Perry's! You WILL pay a premium for it! A REAL premium -- I still have a Handling Fee ($5.00), GST (5%) and PST (8%) to contend with too! For a real laugh, check out their price on the BOAC Comet 4. THAT will sober anyone up in a New York minute! That's why my Bookmark for them is labeled: 'Perry's -- Last Chance'

(If anyone is interested, you can PM me for the FINAL cost -- I ain't sayin' here)

Yea started a thread in the Market Place grumbling about his shipping, the shipping was more than the model - "Perry's =No Chance"
