Yup, much better lol, so when do we vote for our new clown to take office and get rid of the dumb

The answer to THAT one is easy: NOT SOON ENOUGH! (Now back to the McKnight Hurricane . . . I think I might put that order into Perry's this afternoon.)

That's a lot of money. I have seen it offered twice here on the forum. I picked mine up for $20.00 from a fellow member.

You are certainly right -- it is -- not to mention what I could be facing for shipping. This outfit has a reputation for 'flexible' shipping quotes. That is why I am a little bit reticent to actually go through with it. But then, I paid a bit too much for my WS•B Wellington from another source too, which is now a cherished member of my collection. We have to remember the McKnight Hurricane is getting quite rare -- almost like the Donald Duck Spit -- it ain't gonna be cheap!

I just have to think about this one a bit.

Fly Right Off (the) Ground = FROG !

(think we'll give the 'Bragging-Rights' a miss though, as I'm showing my age......)

(heh-heh) Well I figured you would know what it stands for. You win, indeed! Cheers! I'll buy you a pint next time we meet! BTW: My reference says: Flys Right Off (the) Ground -- but close enough!

There are a few IPMS shows comin' up J.P.N. where ya might just pick up a short-nosed Blenhiem (?)

What's this? Got any details? (Maybe it's PM time?)

Re: Question about Corgi "McKnight" Hurricane AA32008

How can you beat a plane that has nose-art of both a skeleton with a sickle ... and Hitler gettin booted in the rump! Priceless.

Plus, the story of Willie McKnight is pretty good. Went down over the Channel in January of '41. God rest his soul. It's a good little read if you look up William "Willy" Lidstone McKnight on Wikipedia. He seemed to be quite the Canadian scoundrel!

From that photo of him and Bader looking at that that 'Hitler-boot-in-the-@ss'' on the nose of Bader's Hurricane, he sure looks like one too!

ABOVE: There we go -- 'Willie' is on the right. Corgi's art department could also use a kick in the pants for the sloppy rendition of that nose art too! Oh well -- we've seen worse, yes?

Re: Question about Corgi "McKnight" Hurricane AA32008

"McKnight's Hat Trick" by Michael Martchenko
On this day, August 30, 1940, following hard fighting, S/LBader tucked in alongside his wingman, "Willie" McKnight as they returned to base. The exuberant Bader held up two fingers indicating his two victories. The Canadian flashed back three indicating a "Hat Trick". Bader was elated. The squadron that day claimed a total of 12 enemy A/C destroyed without loss to themselves. The tide of the battle was turning.
