Re: Corgi Spares

Who are MoMo and Jim anyway? Do they have a tendancy for snowing in young collectors with junk mail?

Re: Corgi Spares

Hearing of these service issues and costs (not to mention their mismanagement of their product line), I am starting to get less than warm, fuzzy feelings towards Corgi.

Ahh, don't let these other guys scare you, Wespen. MoMo and Jim are perfectly safe & sane fellow members of the forum... Hahaha! *Whew!* No one here's sane -- that's why we're members! Where do you normally expect to see grown men running around with little airplanes? Could it be ... the sanitarium?! Just remember to call MoMo "Marquis de MoMo" and nod politely when Jim talks about his beloved P-40, and you'll be fine.

Re: Corgi Spares

I was quoted £4.50 to mail to New Zealand a replacement undercarriage leg for a Corgi Mustang that I broke. That was by Nona, so I don't think that there have ever been "free" replacements, at least not to those of us who don't live in the UK?

At the beginning of the month I contacted Corgi for a set of replacement undercarriage legs for a Bf109, I have just had an e mail from the "spares administrator" at Corgi Helena Smith telling me yes the parts can be supplied at a cost of £3 inc p&p so it looks like the end of free replacements

Post Re: Corgi Spares

Nimrod,

I had talked to my CORGI Distributor here in the US just a few days ago about any spare CORGI parts, and we here have no one to contact now at Corgi. Would you have or could you get an email address for this Helena Smith at CORGI UK, if so I would like to have it, as I have tried to get some parts for stock items with no success. Thanks in advance!

GBeck

For anyone wanting to contact Corgi concerning spare parts here is Ms Smiths e mail address HSmith@corgiclassics.co.uk if I were an overseas customer I would be rather concerned about the spares situation.
Where possible HM & GA will be my first choice from now on having recieved my Vampire this week & stumping up £37 inc p&p for what is a very simple casting & paint job I say enough is enough I could have bought a superb Century Tomcat for £2 less inc p&p!!.

In my naivety I had always assumed we pay Corgis exorbitant prices to partly fund a premium parts service but it seems they want the penny & the bun too.

I got a free part and free mailing, though it was not my fault as the part that came with the B-24 was defective. Don't know if that made any difference. Nona did not, however, require any proof, ie did not request the faulty part be sent to her, or picture of same.

Don't know what to tell you Spinnaker, but for the few times I needed replacement parts, Nona/Corgi sent them without charge. This really is an unhappy turn of events for Corgi if they start charging such outlandish fees for replacement parts. The dog really is going downhill fast - my opinion, of course.

Re: Corgi Spares

I got a replacement tailwheel for a B-17 from Nonna, and was not charged anything.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
