| Re: Anybody up for one of these when they come out??
I plan to get one of each of Corgi's 51Bs (finances willing). There was a question on a HM thread about inactivity from that company. Not too long ago we were talking about inactivity in Corgi production (and it is still slow as Moses). But what about the inactivity at GA? There was something about cutting back production while they worked on the AD, but they have been absolutely dead for at least a couple months. These slowdowns at HM, Corgi, and GA can't all be from New Year's bacchanalia. Any conspiracy theories?

| Re: Anybody up for one of these when they come out?? TN I have to throw in with Skunky on this one too as these P-51b's just don't cut it when compared with GA, my one B model is the Hun Hunter but I do have the two Blue Nosers and Creamers Dream in Corgi as I just love there schemes and history. Also have the Millie P fron Dragon which was my first Mustang purchase. Dave I would hold out that maybe GA makes this bird down the road IMHO. ![]() | |||||||||||||

If waiting means it right when it hits the self so be it. The Corgi P-51s are just not worth it.

| Re: Anybody up for one of these when they come out??
Assuming there will be more GA models, which is my point. I own all of the GA Spits, Mustangs, and 109s, so I like the brand. I also own a great many of their GJ 1/400 models, which are a great value for the money. But, while GJ has been turning out models at the usual (fast) pace, GA hasn't. I still wonder if GA is going the way of AEROart, which dropped 1/72 after producing two mostly excellent Mustangs. Just a thought, and I hope my suspicions are proven wrong.

| Re: Anybody up for one of these when they come out?? I am not a huge P-51 fan, but curious what is about the Corgi P-51s that is off? I only have one Corgi P-51 and picked it up at the Tueday Morning store for $9.99. The cowling does look at bit off and the prop blades may be a little on the broad side. Another I have noticed while looking at old black and white photos of P-51s sitting on the ramp, and that is in regards to the inner landing gear doors. I want to say well over half of them of a P-51 on the ramp have the inner gear doors retracted, but it seems like majority of the models have the gear down configuration with inner gear doors extended. Franklin Mint seems to be the only ones that have their models setup with the inner gear doors retracted with main gear down. Just curious if anyone has any input with this. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Anybody up for one of these when they come out?? CC, it would be quicker to list what's not wrong with Corgi's (1/72nd scale) Mustangs...but ugly join lines, mis-shapen cowls, ridiculous looking pilots with horrible posture, incorrect paint shades are the primaries. They just seem to exude "blob appeal" As far as the inner door issue goes, all P-51 doors (unless there are some special ones out there) will slowly bleed down once the aircraft is parked and shut down. If you're seeing pics of them retracted, then most likely they're either powered up or have just recently been shut down. Definitely don't want to be looking to FM for Mustang accuracies either. | |||||||||||||
