Thumbs up Re: What are your favorite Corgi models?

Well my favorites change slightly as time goes on but currently the Swordfish and Gladiators are the top o the list!
Also the US Coast Guard Seahawk is awesome and a long overdue version.
Some of my consistent top 5 listers are:

RAF CC B-24 (Love this model, also arguably the best B-24).
RCAF Air-Sea Rescue Lancaster.
RAF Air-Sea Rescue Sea King, (Love that yellow)!
TWA Constellation (polished metal)
B-52 W/ X-15

As you may see from this list I really like the colorful selections best.

Yeah, I think we have done this before, but what the heck -- my list changes from week to week, so here goes for THIS week!

1. 1:72 Dambuster Lanc (SnS version)
2. 1:72 Bader Hurricane
3. 1:144 Canadian Pacific Bristol Britannia CF-CZA
4. 1:144 BOAC Bristol Britannia G-ANBA (Polished)
5. 1:72 Golden Hawks F-86
6. 1:72 PO•S Lanc

Outside of the aircraft, I have to say I am extremely fond of my TTC 'fishbowl' GM bus, Grey Coach 'fishbowl' GM bus and my 1st edition of the TTC PPC Streetcar. (Weird, I know, but Corgi did such superb job on these -- and I've travelled on them all, being that I live in Toronto!)

Personally, I think Corgi does a fair decent job overall, it is just at some of the smaller scales they get seriously challenged with the panel lines. My Britannias (I have 8 altogether) have 'trenches' on the wings for panel lines -- yet -- they still seem to really capture the elegance and difference of a 100 series vs. the 300 series of these aircraft. Well done, as far as I can say. They got the gentle forward cant of the main landing gear spot-on!!

I will continue to collect Corgi aircraft and am craving a Manchester or a polished metal B-17C or D. (Mmmmmmm - polished metal *salivate'n'drool*)

Re: What are your favorite Corgi models?

Looks like most of us agree that they do a good job on the heavies.
Count me in with the RCAF Wellington, RCAF Lancaster, B-17's BOL & 909
I also collect early Brit jets, so where else would I go?

Re: What are your favorite Corgi models?

Wow I just noticed I had not voted. Here are mine
1. Strawberry Bitch
2. 909
3. Memphis Belle
4. Sleepy Time Gal
5. Yankee Doodle , love that US ARMY under the wings
6. Olds / Bong P-38s
I'm looking at getting BOL, Pistol Packin' Mama, Ball of Fire III or Jerks Natural, and maybe a PBY. I then have to get my son his B-25. I still like Mount and Ride though, but 4 B-17s is enough. LOL
