Thumbs up Hawk T.1A, 2 TWU / 151 Sqn RAF. What a stunner!

I got this little stunner this week, and am well pleased with it. This takes me back to my childhood in the 1980's when the RAF still had two units dedicated to weapons training. I can imagine a pilot who'd just spent all their time flying red and white trainers coming face to face with this, a proper military jet with proper military markings and camo!

2007 was Hawk year for me - I picked-up this one, the Red Arrows one, the all black Valley and Red-White Valley versions. They look great together in my display cabinet. Excellent pictures, mate.

Yes I'm thinking about the others too, shame they never did the earlier red/white training scheme though as it would fit better with my late Cold War collection (70's 80's era).

I think my only gripe was the fact they left off the weapons pylons, as they could've added either SNEB rockets, or AIM-9's which would've made a great model even better.

Very nice, pj! The unit patches adds a nice touch.

This one is on my wishlist as well!

Forgive my British military aviation ignorance, but what is the purpose/meaning/significance of the various "x" markings seen on this and other British warplanes?

Perhaps those "X" markings are stylized squadron emblem surrounding the RAF roundel is particular to a certain RAF Hawk T.1A squadron?
That's my theory anyway.
