The Corgi Royal Canadian Air Force F-86 Sabre in the livery of the "Golden Hawks" Air Demonstration Team is a good one. However, I would really like to see some Operational schemes (both bare metal and camouflage) represented. The RCAF as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization had an Air Division Consisting of 12 Sabre Squadrons in 4 Wings in the Air Superiority Role in Germany and France from 1952 until replaced in 1963 by the CF-104 Starfighter. The camouflage example is from a model made by William Lawlor and is from a 1/48 Hasegawa F-86F-30 converted to an RCAF Sabre Mk 6.. The markings are circa 1959 and show a 434 Squadron 'Bluenose' machine. Dan

| Re: Wanted: Operational RCAF F-86 Sabre (Mk 2,5 or 6) The camo version is really nifty. I'd definitely pick up one of them. | |||||||||||||

Here are some examples of versions that could be done in Chrome/Polished metal. Side profiles of RCAF 434 Squadron and 414 Squadron Sabres in Natural Metal finish. Dan

| I too would like to see more Canadair CL-13A Sabre Mk.4's from Corgi in RCAF colours. Camo or otherwise. I agree, my 'Golden Hawks' Sabre is a cracker! I bought 3! (Gawd knows how many times I saw those guys -- and The Red Knight in his T-33 -- live in Prince George, BC during the late 50s/early 60s!) As you may know, AC, there IS an RAF camo version of (AA35805) Canadair CL-13A Sabre Mk.4, but so far that's it. Perhaps you could add it to the list at Corgi's 'Request' page (Found HERE)? Gotta say -- This is TOTALLY my favourite cold-war fighter!!! JPN | |||||||||||||

Regrettably, that is your loss, eh, old chum? I understand that CFB Chatham is in your neck o' the woods. The fact it is going to a 'museum' leads me to believe it isn't going to sit outside and rot, like so many other fine birds have. This has got me to wondering if they still have that one Golden Hawk at CWHM that is on loan from NAM? The last I saw it would have been 2 years ago this March -- gotta love those gun ports! (Wouldn't mind going up there again this March!) Anyone from the Hamilton area care to weigh-in? JPN
