Corgi Predators North Vietnamese Mig 21?

I am wondering about the two North Vietnamese Mig 21's that have been released in the Corgi Predators line-- are they accurate for the versions they depict? Are there any other issues as to accuracy? I know they started out as the Hobby Master Mig 21, but I am wondering if they are correct for North Vietnamese Mig 21's. Thanks.

I think the Mig is accurate, just the ordinance is wrong.. IIRC the NV Mig comes with ground attack rockets and should've come with air-to-air missiles, but some of the more knowledgable members can probably give better opinions..

The air to ground rockets just seem a little silly on mine. Nice bird, but it just looks wrong somehow with those rockets.

I prefer the Hobby Master Mig's since you get air to air missles.

Re: Corgi Predators North Vietnamese Mig 21?

You have to wonder why Corgi put air-to-ground missiles on a Mig 21 that was never used for ground attack. Being North Vietnamese Mig-21's, their purpose in life was air-to-air combat. If I get one of these, maybe I can change out the weapons load for some Atoll missiles. Has anyone done this?

The North Vietnamese MiG-21 is the correct variant, but the air-to-ground rockets has got to go if you're gonna pair it up with the upcoming HM Steve Ritchie F-4 Phantom like I'll do!

Re: Corgi Predators North Vietnamese Mig 21?

I have both Corgi issues and several Hobby Master ones as well. I use the extra missiles from the HM birds to put ordnance on the Corgi birds.

I think I have one of the Corgi birds in my personal photos.

Re: Corgi Predators North Vietnamese Mig 21?

Get Egyptian Mig-21 and swap the ordinance. North Vietnamese MiG-21s for the most part flew with 4 AA-2 Atoll missiles. However, Soviet "zuni" rockets are appropriate load out for Egyptian MiG-21s taking part in Egyptian Libyan war.

Sergey

I happen to have the Egyptian MiG-21 with those ordinance. Thanks for that tip, Sergey!

Re: Corgi Predators North Vietnamese Mig 21?

I quite liked the Egyptian MiG-21, but settled for the Russian one instead. The NVAF MiG maybe on the cards late after the Vietnam Phantoms arrive, well they'll need something to play with!
