Red Baron Albatross

Man, what is the deal with this plane? Flying Mule had it up as expected then it disappeared. They have been in country since beginning of Dec 2007.
I can't understand the hold up.

Have you tried Aiken's Airplanes? They show AA37801 ALBATROS DV - RITT. MANFRED VON RICHTHOFEN, JASTA 11, 1917 as being in stock.

Re: Red Baron Albatross

Louie,
The Flying Mule pulls an item from its web when it sells through. (At least as far as I know.) That means they blew through their stock and don't expect any back in anytime soon.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Red Baron Albatross

It just seems odd being my local dealer gets his from FM. I have not seen nor heard that my local dealer has them coming although he did order multiples from FM.

Re: Red Baron Albatross

Nobody has the Albatross in stock in the U.S.,if it's being listed in stock anywhere it a mistake.
I talked to Martin over at TFM about this model on Friday, he is a bit annoyed it has not been shipped either.

The Model is in the U.S. but still sitting in Corgi's warehouse, since Corgi was bought by Master Replicas last year they went through the process of combining all the products MR sells in one warehouse.
As a result of this MR did not want to ship any Corgi products till their new u.s warehouse in CA fully operational.
That means there are a few new release that have been sitting for a few weeks in the U.S.
Now some those new releases are just starting to trickle in but for some reason the Albatross is still being held up.

Re: Red Baron Albatross

The Flying Mule still appears to have the Red Baron Albatross available for pre-order ...

Well. it is in stock at least one place: Burbank's House of Hobbies. I saw it on the shelf there in person last week. I just could not bring myself to get it, however, as it, along with the SE5A, just look a little too plastic or toy-like, at least as compared to Carousel 1 birds. Caveat: I only looked at these through the clear plastic lid under the box top.

Re: Red Baron Albatross

I got mine three weeks ago and for $37.98 on Ebay shipped from the USA, so they must be out.

Also the thing is very well done with very little plastic and does not look toylike in anyway.

The one was a surprise to me, it was so nice.
