Re: Free Halifax Deal?

It would seem like there will be quite a few dissapointed folks. Not a very good showing by Corgi.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I faxed my tokens to the UK, and also posted them by airmail. Had an e-mailed reply from Jane Watson, the marketing manager of Corgi (see below). Have to say I am very disappointed in the way this entire debacle has been handled by Corgi.

"Dear John

Thank you for your fax. Yes, you did send these through in time, however, how you heard about what the limited edition would look like, I don’t know. We haven’t told anyone yet, well not until this week! So if you can tell me who told you, that would be helpful. Yes, it is a silver-painted edition with no markings I am afraid. And, to be expected, the Halifax was by far the most claimed model, so despite the promotion ending officially, we have had far in excess of claimants for this exclusive model; and with this some disappointed claimants. All available models have been allocated to earlier claimants. So, despite sending the fax, you would not have been successful, although I think from what you have said, you would be disappointed in a silver model.

I apologize, but I regret you were unsuccessful with this promotion, but I would like to thank you for your effort and obvious interest shown in our models.>>

May I wish you the best for 2008.

Kind regards

This is completely shabby. I too would very seriously advise posting this on DAF to seriously register your displeasure. The Brits don't take too kindly to this sort of thoughtless Customer Service. I never saw any '1st come. 1st served' on any of their material -- anywhere!

I'd start that thread today and post your complete post as you have here. Then sit back and watch Corgi get what they deserve -- aptly reamed.

Talk about getting a "Dear John" letter. That sucks for sure! When I send in my red tokens for a WWI aircraft, I will probably get the same type of letter.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Sorry guys but it states quite clearly on the card in the models and I quote

"We are producing a highly exclusive run of 500 models for each section of Aviation Archive that can only be obtained by collecting 6 tokens from inside the packs. These models will be variants of the 2007 new tooling and will be issued on a first come first served basis."

And in the small print

"All free models offered are subject to availability based on the limited edition run.The first come first served process relates to the date of receipt of tokens"

So if your tokens were not in the first 500 of each you get nothing.

Evidently, I stand corrected. OK.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I sent mine in months ago and never heard a thing about it. I emailed and still nothing. How do we know when we don't get one that it is because we didn't get them in on time and not because somebody shredded them without opening the letter?

Hey Corgi,

How about an email stating the tokens were received but you missed the boat. Or, thankyou for being a loyal Corgi customer, it' on the way!

ANYTHING!

So does anyone on this forum think they have a lucky gold ticket for one of these?

...but a kick in the groinand waiting 6 to 8 months hoping that you got your tokens in before the deadline and one of the lucky 500.But you might be able to send in your 12 tokens from the Warbirds series so you can have a free $3 wallet to put your future tokens in....
