Re: Free Halifax Deal?

I just hope Matthew Harrells list of names and addresses for the free Halifaxs isn't missing!

With our luck they'll probably ship another 250 but they'll end up in England

This may not be Kipling, but it plays into the general feeling if I may paraphrase Officer Malone (Sean Connery) from The Untouchables:

"You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, Corgi pulls a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue. That's the Chicago way, and that's how you get your Halifax! Now do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that?"

I am, are you?

It is taken care of by important TOP personnel! Just watch Raiders of the Lost Ark at the end.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Another update:

I am preparing to follow up with the former Corgi (Master Replicas/PopCo) and provide a list of collectors who submitted tokens and expect satisfaction. So far, I have received only a handful of PMs with names and contact information and the number of responses is less than I expected. So, one last request for responses before I submit the names later this week.

Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Another report:

I have now sent a follow up e-mail and have attached a list of those names (sans addresses) who responded to me. If you sent me your e-mail, I blind copied you on the e-mail. If I did not copy you, either I don't have your e-mail address or I'm an idiot. If you did not receive but want a copy of the e-mail and the list of names, send me your e-mail address via pm.

For those of you who received a copy of the e-mail and list of names, if you do not see a name you otherwise know is part of the forum and sent in tokens to Corgi, let me know and I will update the list.

If you respond late to me with your name as someone who sent in tokens, I will update the list and send the additional names in a few days. I plan to contact Master Replicas/PopCo by phone later in the week. Keep your fingers crossed.

Question Re: Free Halifax Deal?

Guys, the mystery (or confusion!) deepens. Spotted this listed of "Trade Me" - a New Zealand-based internet auction site: -

Corgi Aviation Archive Halifax 1:72 Scale for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand

??? Any ideas what's going on?

From the listing....

"This This model is one of a limited edition of just 150 produced worldwide, and is numbered 149, the last but one, ever produced.

This model has never been for sale in retail stores. It was a special edition by Corgi for the first 150 collectors who sent in 6 tokens by 31 Jan 2008. Demand far out stripped supply and most collectors were dissapointed. model is one of a limited edition of just 150 produced worldwide, and is numbered 149, the last but one, ever produced.

I'd say 'disappointed' is putting it rather mildly
